Great band - loved their music, especially Kid Charlemagne, Deacon Blues, Aja, Do it again, Peg and Rikki don't lose that number.

Will be sadly missed, safe travel Walter, to that giant 24 track in the sky.

My old man loves Steely Dan, grew up on them and was a fan as well.
I swing like hell but know full well that I won't win the fight, but big man I'm the beta male that's gonna ruin your night...

Grew up on Steely Dan as well. Loved their albums - some really great musos played on with Becker and Fagen. They were ahead of their time. RIP Walter!

The Phrase "They stab it with their Steely knives" in the Eagles Hotel California, was a tribute to Steely Dan, for mentioning The Eagles in one of their songs.

I rarely check the general discussion threads. But here i am and I notice this one. Steely Dan were an incredible band. Musically, they were right up there. Probably the best concert I've been to. And now, I hear of the death of Gordon Downie from the Tragically Hip. Chris Cornells sad death was a shock. Gords wasn't surprising but man it sucks. RIP Gord. Thanks for the memories
