I struggle to work out why Milo gets a 50k bill because a bunch of violent ferals diametrically opposed to his views need to be managed by police.
Either the protest organisers should foot the bill, or when police are needed, they should just arrest everyone that does not follow a reasonable direction and go home

If a gay paramedic refuses to resuscitate someone whose a staunch opponent to gay marriage there would be outrage.

It's been officially passed through parliament "we yes voters" don't need to resort to over the top scenarios. It's a simple comparison.

Congratulations to the Lower house who have officially legalised SSM :D

Also a big contratulations to the public. If there wasn't such a strong push, there would never have been a plebiscite, and it would not have come this far.

It shouldn't have taken $120 million bucks

It was simple , people deserve equal rights no matter what

51 years since the Indigeneous have the right to vote , the gay /lesbian community have the right to marry

We aren't real quick on the upbeat sometimes , kind of embarrassing really

Well I wouldn't be so quick to slap ourselves on the back. As an indigenous Australian, it is possible in this day and age to walk into a coffee ship first and be the last one served. ;)

Well said Happy. I agree with you but there were a lot of people that were against it even today and that is why they spent the money on a vote. It was a waste of money but can you imagine the whining from the people that still believe that gay people somehow don't deserve equal rights within society.

Yes unfortunately there are still many people who carry prejudices for the most minor reason. At times i despair about my fellow human race but very slowly things are improving.

No need to despair.
Stop worrying so much how other people think or live.
People spend far too much time tsk tsking each other.
The survey and the law passed because majority thought it was fair.
That should be the end of the argument but I think we all know it wont be. People are gloating whilst others seethe and around it goes....

Same sex marriage advocates should front a Muslim Bakery and ask them to bake a cake for them. When they say "no", as they will, take them to court. Now that I would really like to see.
Ever been to a same sex wedding Col??.
Apart from his own when he got drunk in Vegas I'll go out on a long limb and say no
Aaarrhh, that explains a lot

I wonder if the electors of Warringah noted Tony Abbott abstained from voting on the SSM bill today and actually moved an amendment designed to slow the bill's passage. As an electorate that voted 75% in favour of SSM I hope they 'reward' him at the next election.
