He really looks the goods, big strong kid with plenty of skill. We could have found our halves partner for Benji.

He wasn't as big as Curtis, but he was a big bloke for a kid 5/8.

To this day, I've never seen a young kid start at 5/8 and run at players and have class all over him like Brad Fittler did. He just had 'it' from day one.

Geez.........Sirro gives me the same vibe.

And I'm not normally one to praise young players too much.

Anasta can be our lock and replace Heighington. Anasta and Sironen can co-exist.

Actually, he could be the perfect bloke to advise Siro on playing as a big, running, ball playing 5/8.

The past twenty years has really been Fittler............Anasta.............Siro (maybe) who are the classical tall / 100 kilo / running pivot.

Obviously Locky, Carney, Thurston etc are top class, I am talking about the 6 foot 2, 100 kilo type pivot. They rarely come along.

He's stepped up right away and just fits right into the side like he's been there for a while

Freddy was amazing as an 18 yo.

I remember as a kid when he was playing for cambridge park in the 15's going to watch him play cause everyone knew who he was and how good he was.

Sirro has a long way to be compared to freddy, but geez he has started well, super impressed tonight...

I must have been watching a different game? He didn't seem to play a 5/8 role well tonight.
He played well, defense was solid and of course his try for an 18 year old showed amazing strength. He carried to ball well.
Please don't get carried away.

I didn't really notice his step. It certainly wasn't like Fittlers.

He played well though.

Sirro is going extremely well for an 18 year old in his second game in First Grade. He shows confidence beyond his years. I like his strength, size and passing skills. Haven't seen his kicking game yet but happy to give him time. Most imprortanly we finally have someone apart from Benji in the backline that can run to the line and put the opposition in two minds. All the other experiments this season have failed. We finally have a playmaking partner in the backline for Benji and that's fantastic!

As for comparing him to Fittler, I would say too early to tell as this stage. Freddy could step brilliantly off both feet whilst in full flight. That was one of his signature trademark skills that people will remember him for. I'm looking forward to watching Sirro play some more games and uncover his skills before contemplating a comparison.

Regardless, it's all good. Nice to see people getting excited again about the players and club future.
