pretty stupid to take the short line drop out. good attitude in defense, but should've gone for the legs instead of going over the top of widdop. overall, a very good game despite those mistakes.

im saying this again, he looks out of position at halfback, he looks lost when he has to direct the team around. if he was playing 2nd receiver instead of sirro, we would've scored. playing the % is not natural to him and still.. we need an organising halfback.. !!!!

Don't think it helped not having Farah inside him .

He made some blunders defensively but if he had some genuine speed outside him the game should of been over at half time

Probably a 6/10 game in my opinion

I think guys are harsh, take out the short drop out, which was poor, given the upside was so low, thought his running us around the park was really good, set things up nicely on the left edge and kicked well.

The missed tackles were disapointing , however, halves miss tackles in the front line it happens, but he was far from poor tonight.

He didn't play badly, his performance just wasn't as dominant and faultless as last week. I think we all expect utopia every week with Benji, but it's not gonna happen.

Couple of bad tackle attempts in the second half and the short line drop-out was a very poor decisions. His recent great goalkicking was off the mark but all up his control was good. Not ten out of ten like last week but maybe a seven IMO.

This thread is a bit harsh. Wasn't a great game but wasn't terrible.

Like others have said the short drop was dumb but Benji trys that stuff every week.

A few missed tackles but he is a half and it was very wet give him a break.

I must have been watching the same game
Maybe he was trying to much with the boot but to me he's looking like a genuine 1/2 back
& to be fair the storm did an excellent job in keeping him quieter than normal

He missed a couple of crucial tackles rushing out of the line but other than that I thought he was pretty good. Oh, that short drop out was a very bad decision. Gave me a heart attack!

I didn't think the short dropout was that bad

- It pays off, we get the ball again and hold out the half. It paid off last week!
- If they get it, we have rock solid line defense and being so close to the line, it would eliminate Melbourne throwing up a bomb.
- It also conserves our energy from not having to run up field and work back to the goal line.

I see it as a good option if we have good goal-line defense, which we do.

Seriously? With 55 seconds left in the half and the score's 2 all you kick the ball as far as you can. It's not the time for a low percentage play.

55 seconds is pretty much a set of 6.

I agree, it gives more onus for Benji not to do it. But still don't think it's such a terrible option.

It also is like going for a Try over a conversion. It gives the other team no respect and can play on their mind. Not a bad play before they walk into the tunnels.

My only criticism of the game is the last tackle options on the Storm line. Benji should of had a bigger presence and demanded the ball imo

Its pretty hard when Iosefa is simply doing whatever he wants. Benji had some poor moments but I'm not going to blame him for Iosefa's dumb plays.

I think Benji's short drop out was dumb and his missed tackles were poor. Overall he had an okay game - not a great one but it was okay.

I'm happy with Benji playing more of a traditional half back's game, but IMO he needs to run more.

A couple of times against Storm, the situation screamed for him to take the line on two off the ruck, but he either kicked or passed.

His passing and kicking will be much more difficult to defend against if he dummied and ran twice a half.

It seemed to me that Benji went missing in attack for the last 15 minutes or so.
