Re: Same sex marriage debate...
The Warren were having a hefty debate about the issue with the main mod there being a positive and being accused of deleting posts or something similar and the site was hacked, just shortly before our site was shut down as a precaution.
As I teach in chess how chess is similar to marriage - marry in haste and regret in leisure.

Malcolm Knox: What has happened this week is a pity for the Tigers, a pity for Jason Taylor and a pity for Robbie Farah, who had achieved more than the Big Four put together but was somehow turned into collateral damage. (SMH 25-26 March, 2017)
Agreed politicians got it wrong in the first place by not making a decision themselves.Waste of money electing them to make decisions.
I am sure that we wont have a say if the coalition sends off our troops to fight in another war

The Coalition would be mad now not to act on it , would be a political death knell if they didn't and they'd lose my vote
And I hope all my gay and lesbian friends can do exactly what they want to do , many have been in long term relationships and deserve the same rights as their straight brothers and sisters

I feel sorry for the Bakers, they're going to go broke now because the gay community will boycott them now. Serves them right , although it probably means no more vanilla slices,or in Happys case ,no more pies

Time for a pro-gay bakery named Masterpiece Bakery to open up and make a fortune - with creative products and names the world is at their feet.goldcoast tiger wrote: ↑Mon 13 Nov, 2017 7:25 pmI feel sorry for the Bakers, they're going to go broke now because the gay community will boycott them now. I'm concerned that all my fears as a conscientious objector to the process (not the issue itself) are about to come true.....

Seeing that we have already known for some time that the community overwhelmingly felt this way, the only good result is that the ABS reckon they have come in twenty odd million under budget.

Warringah 75% in favour. What's it going to be Tony? Listen to the people you represent or do your personal beliefs come first?
Don't try to tell me awesome power can corrupt a person, you haven't enough to know what it's like; you're only angry because you wish you were in my position, you nod your head because you know that I'm right.

On that note, the seats that voted no overwhelmingly are labour heartland but probably have many socially conservative people living there. Interesting times ahead. Might be a masterstroke from Turnbull, who has turned himself into a "Master bator" with his ineffective leadership.Cultured Bogan wrote: ↑Wed 15 Nov, 2017 10:28 amWarringah 75% in favour. If it gets to a vote in parliament, these labour members will have to vote yes, surely. I hope people don't care enough about the issue to vote out an incumbent on the basis of a single issue, but this is the risk when you ask the people to do the politician's job.
