Re: Pre Season Casualty Report
I'm not quite sure why we bought McQueen in the first place as we seem to have similar types in Lawrence and Taylor...who need to be complemented by one or more larger backrowers.
Guess the deal was done before Clearys arrival...and before we knew of McQueens injury issues
As for Suli,we have several accomplished candidates for the centres who probably deserve to start before him in Milne and Marsters...but Suli, with plenty of time on his side, has the potential to be better than all of em,so no point in rushing him.

I thought this was released by the club, then realised it was only NRL.com. They lost credibility with me after the atrocious side they predicted for us round 1. Idiots.
The way i read it, it says McQueen is progressing well, and everybody is writing him off.
Not that I'm suggesting that he is going to do great things for us, just hoping he comes good and has some impact.

More accomplished? Suli has played more first grade than any of them. And made more of an impact. Despite being younger.clontarfkid wrote: ↑Thu 11 Jan, 2018 9:26 pmI'm not quite sure why we bought McQueen in the first place as we seem to have similar types in Lawrence and Taylor...who need to be complemented by one or more larger backrowers.

But we have decent cover so if he's not ready we wait, but he's the first centre picked when fit.
Agree totally BB - How they are more accomplished having played less NRL games I don't know.Balmain Boy wrote: ↑Fri 12 Jan, 2018 9:34 amMore accomplished? If he is fit and will not do any more damage to the ankle - first centre picked. If not we can wait, he is too good to ruin his career by rushing him back.

He didnt say more accomplished
They were accomplished, Suli is not therefore
so by default they are more accomplished than Suli.
Simples Ink.
That's ok i know you just like finding errors in what I say.

Ive read it three times and fail to see the word 'more' before 'accomplished'.
But Russell thinks im bullying him.
Merely stating a fact.
Point 1 - I don't think or have never thought you were bullying me.innsaneink wrote: ↑Sat 13 Jan, 2018 12:31 pmIve read it three times and fail to see the word 'more' before 'accomplished'.

Point 2 - You obviously reread my post and still missed the point. The point was he did not say 'more' - that is understood.
He did however say the others were 'accomplished' - by implication Suli is not accomplished and therefore the
others must be 'more' accomplished than Suli.
It doesn't matter though Ink - I know in my mind Suli is more accomplished. Whether you do or not is a matter for yourself.

As I actually wrote the contentious comment re" accomplished",Ill have my say..
I think all 3 of Marsters/Milne and Suli are ..ahem.."accomplished",and all will be solid NRL players at worst.
We cld choose any pair and I'm sure they'll do well, and most importantly will develop further under Clearys tutelage.
But as the first two are injury free, fit and raring to go ,Id be inclined to give them first crack with an expectation that Suli will get an opportunity sooner rather than later during the season and never see ISP again.
And as I said, has the potential to be the best of the three of em.
Hope that helps...

Yep....thanks for clearing up for us, some misinterpreted your post...no implication suli is not as accomplished as others mentioned.clontarfkid wrote: ↑Sat 13 Jan, 2018 5:07 pmAs I actually wrote the contentious comment re" accomplished",Ill have my say..

I know ill cop some flack from a few supporters on here but i think Marshall could be a bolter for the 9 if Liddle isn't ready to go by opening round.
Still a pretty good line up considering Suli, Mcqueen, kev, Sue, Liddle and a bunch of fringys there abouts aswell.
Just bought tickets to the roosters game in round one.
Cant wait so see packer rip teddys face off.

No I'm not - Poor Ink, failed to understand again after a number of explanations.innsaneink wrote: ↑Sat 13 Jan, 2018 5:30 pmYep....thanks for clearing up for us, some misinterpreted your post...no implication suli is not as accomplished as others mentioned.clontarfkid wrote: ↑Sat 13 Jan, 2018 5:07 pmAs I actually wrote the contentious comment re" accomplished",Ill have my say..

I am not saying Suli is as accomplished as the other two as apparently "clontarfkid" clarified.
I am saying he is more experienced and more accomplished than the other two.
It doesn't matter anyway Ink - he won't be starting for awhile it would seem so therefore you can rest easy.
I'm done with this convo anyway - I think people have been bored enough.
in all due respect of your opinion mate....jst sayin but...that bench dont look all that strong...taylor and mcqueen are not provin front rowers at all...+ if you swapped mckillrick for a front rower......taylor could be the DH rotationBalmainian wrote: ↑Sat 13 Jan, 2018 5:58 pm1 Tui
