Cleary

Guys do you think deep down when you look into the mirror at night that cleary knows he is screwed. we have issues all over the park and a roster which is locked in for years. Cleary as head coach surely must know that he is flogiing a dead horse

Don't see why..as he himself locked the roster in for years..Why would he do that to flog his own horse...?

Needed a thread tho..

I don't think he is our saviour and personally wouldn't be bothered if Rooster's came and pinched him of us.

Some desperate signings to please the fans really....
Josh Reynolds that's a gee up really, not doubting his hunger to win at all cost or energy but really? If we paid around the 500k mark sweet but not what we got him for.
Packer was another over priced purchase.

To me hearing he still doesn't know his best team half way through the year well that's just plain dumb.

And who bloody approved the Mcqueen signing? That takes the cake for me.
It depends who you talk to on this Forum, if you are Optimistic? it's because your delusional and need a reality check. If you are Pessimistic? Your accused of being a negative Nancy and to go and follow another Club.

Taylor signed Mcqueen. Reynolds should of cost us 500k not 750 k. Honestly though I dont think the side is that bad. Were lacking in the backs for quality but our forwards have proven in the first few weeks they can outplay other teams forwards. All of them just have to pull there finger out.

Packer and Matulino -
they'll hopefully come good. Packer looks injured. Idk what Ben's problem is... Maybe he's suffering from the move to another country. Whatever it is, he needs to get his head in the game and start delivering.

We need to sign a few more top line front rowers for the bench. Twal is great but he's doing a lot on his own.

Sitaleki Akauola as mentioned would be nice and maybe a few other hard nuts cos our bench is very weak relying on Aloiai, MCK, Sue and Huth... Bunch of pea hearts.

McQueen - he's a dud. Let's be real. We tried and failed with this one. What's the best option? We cant force him to retire and he's quite the expensive state cup player. No other clubs are going to be interested.... Maybe we got out very own high price former origin rep god of state cup?

Reynolds - OK we all love him. Hes cooked tho. Maybe he can be a trainer and retire from the game? Prob tear his hammy running water tho.... We got it wrong with this one despite him being a good dude.

Biggest concern is LIDDLE imo.
Moltzen 2.0
How many hookers we use this year cos this guy can't make it through the game?
Thank God for Farah.
Now let's sign Segyaro or Lichaa. Preferable Habibi

Our forwards have to be allowed to hit the ball up. If they were consistently only making 4m a hit up that would be a bad sign. They're just now allowed to run the ball much with our current gameplan.

Cleary would know we're not too far off, but with all clubs we have our bad contracts. Reynolds and to a lesser extent McQueen are shockers.

He wouldn't be that stupid to come here unless he doesn't want to play for the Blues anymore. Besides we have Brooks , just needs another 3 more years to be consistent it's only been 5 years give him time his only a young kid.

Well it hasn't taken long to turn on the coach. Fraction more than half a season.

Oh! well - the more things change, the more they stay the same.

A lot of predictable wrist slitting.

See when a team is highly competitive for about 10 rounds, then much less competitive for 10 rounds, who is to blame? Is it the coach's fault for not getting the players up each and every week over 24 rounds? Or is it the player's fault for not being able to produce consistent performances week in and out.

I find it very hard to believe that a coach who got the team to 5-1 in the first 6 weeks suddenly doesn't know how to coach or build a roster. How can the strategy and game management that played so well for the first half of the year suddenly not work any more?

To me that falls on the players. There are systems in place that help us play well, defend and play tough, but they aren't being followed the past 8-10 weeks. To be smashed by Canberra and limply fall to Titans in 2 weeks separated by a bye, I can't really put that on the coach. Getting beat is one thing, getting hammered and having no fight is another, and usually that's about the players.

The real question for me is why do the players fall away? It's not the same team year on year, though we've brought a few oldies back in 2018. Sheens, Taylor, Potter, Cleary, Pearce, Lamb - that's a lot of coaches managing to follow the same game plan - start well early, finish poorly, finish just outside the finals (or worse).
