I did not think he was supposed to be a commentator when Penrith played ? You could hear the disappointment in his voice. Quite frankly he should not be there as he imo is not fully appreciative of the game when they are losing like they were.
I agree. However I thought he did as good a job as possible in being independent and calling the game without bias. He shouldn't have been put in that situation though.

But Rabs HAD to attend the LOGIES!!!
Imo Gus was overly critical of Penrith, he did OK....in fact I liked it better without Rabs

Yeah I actually enjoyed his commentary. Better when he's not with Rabs

I've always liked Gus, and thought he was alright during the game. But we didn't get a
"GO KEEFY" out of him

I'm not a complete idiot.............there are some pieces missing!
I liked how we got a good background of some of the young unknown Panthers, for example I thought it was very interesting to hear they were considering playing the young 5/8 in the back row

Austin is a backrower who can play at five-eighth, he's played in the forwards off the bench every time he's played for them this year.dermo wrote:I liked how we got a good background of some of the young unknown Panthers, for example I thought it was very interesting to hear they were considering playing the young 5/8 in the back row
I didn't have a problem with him TBH. In fact I actually forgot the link until it popped into my mind during the second half - I certainly didn't think he was favouring Penrith in his commentary.
Seems to be the general consenus in this thread. I'd wager it would be a different tone if we hadn't won so easily2041 wrote:I didn't have a problem with him TBH. i agree with the consensus here. i thought he did a very good job, and had read on here he didnt work penrith games before watching. i too thought he was very objective and his comments on penrith surprisingly unbiased.
in a strange twist, with gould always the one getting on my nerves, i think it was shown on the weekend that old mother rabbits is the problem. how old is their constant bickering?!!
btw, who was that commentator? was it ray hadley? because i felt like i was watching a game from 1986 or something?!

I hate Gould as a commentator, I think he's a PITA, trying to be funny by argueing with Rabs.
I do think he's got a good footy head & enjoy listening to his views, but not when he's trying to be funny.
