Wow! That's a huge go - definitely something going on there, well spotted. I can't even think of another time that has happened..Eddie wrote:Was going to say exactly the same thing.Tony33 wrote:Alot of money came in for the Titans late. Alot ! Did someone know something we didn't ? Just saying.
.
I thought there must have been some late changes as that is a fair weight of money to move the price that far.
Its like when they back a horse from 6s into an even money shot and it bolts in.

Seriously, some fans on here are gold.
Wanting to replace Woods as captain? We had 2 games where the team fights back to win, games the Tigers would have lost last year. Nobody got on Woods' wagon & praised him for rallying the team to fight back. We lose one game, and he should be gone for Farah?
Yeah, it was a disappointing game. And there are probably a million reasons. But in the end, they couldn't complete sets. The Titans did a better job of it. And as a result, the Tigers lost control of the game.
Give whatever reasons you want- but for mine that is the mark of a young team. Keeping the screws on a team when you have the beaten is hard. Particularly when, as they have done 3 weeks in a row, they carve up the defense easily early on. Natural enthusiasm for these kids- they want to rack up more points. Get sloppy. Lose the fundamentals & focus & start trying to score from everywhere, when they really should do a Melbourne, or prepare yourselves, play Taylor-ball more & focus on possession starving the opposition.
Hopefully they will learn that.
But for anyone wanting to pin it on Woods' captaincy- the Tigers have leaked points & blown far more leads under Farah's captaincy. And yes, we've all seen Robbie 'rev them up' when points start leaking. But strangely, it's still been a while since we saw it make much difference..

Wake up Tigers Players,
Dont get excited by the paper talk
You actually have to work for Wins.

I think so too but he isn't the answer to all of our defensive problems. We need our defence to stay switched on for the whole game.Masterton wrote:Mancrush aside, I imagine we should be calmer and defensively sturdier with Farah back.
More than his defence or attack the team will benefit from his experience and talk on the field. Woods will lead by his actions and Robbie will do a lot of talking. They seem like an odd couple to me but hopefully they work well together.
You just gave a whole lot of reasons why Woods isn't doing the job as a captain.Chadman's Ghost wrote:Seriously, some fans on here are gold.

We've won two fight back games where we should never been in the place to have to fight back.
As you say they are a young team and go off the rails ( and have done so every game) - and Woods,so far, doesn't seem able to do anything about it.
Comparing Farah and the past has nothing to do with what's needed now, which is a hard headed experienced leader.
Maybe Woods will find a voice, for our sake I hope it's soon.

I didn't say it was his 'fault'.
I said he, as captain, didn't seem to help in manage it.
Every team has a captain whose job it is to lead them, and hold the team together - and he doesn't seem to be doing or saying much to hold us together.
If that's because his influence is lost when he's not on the field, or whatever reason, it's not good enough.
Not everyone is captain material.

We've been coughing up leads for the best part of ten years. No one dragged Farah over coals for it.

Maybe because Farah was at least seen to be involved as captain whether everyone approved that style or not. Whereas Woods is not seen by many to be involved at all. It is sort of getting a good pay increase while having a bludge on the job.Cultured Bogan wrote:We've been coughing up leads for the best part of ten years. No one dragged Farah over coals for it.
Malcolm Knox: What has happened this week is a pity for the Tigers, a pity for Jason Taylor and a pity for Robbie Farah, who had achieved more than the Big Four put together but was somehow turned into collateral damage. (SMH 25-26 March, 2017)

Now Woods is bludging as well as a bad captain.
At least the board has moved on from Taylor as the whipping boy.

Not unusual apparently, according to the TAB mouth on BSB this morning they accepted a bet for $100,000+ on Manly last night just before kickoff.Tony33 wrote:Alot of money came in for the Titans late. Alot ! Enough to take us from 1.67 favourites to $2 outsiders. About 15 minutes before kick off.

Well obviously the captain has nothing to do it with it. If a hard nosed bloke like Farah couldn't turn our fortunes maybe it runs deeper than who has the "C" next to their name?Byron Bay Fan wrote:Maybe because Farah was at least seen to be involved as captain whether everyone approved that style or not. You are not suggesting another "C" next rung up the ladder? Being there done thatCultured Bogan wrote:Well obviously the captain has nothing to do it with it. Reading some of these comments about Woods as captain seem unbelievable.
Im not sure what people expect.
Every side in the NRL is full of really good players (some more than others), at various stages the other side is going to have the better of it in a game. We are unlikely to control many games start to finish and not have the other side be on top at some point.
Brisbane had Penrith on toast and lost. Canberra had Newcastle (everyones tip for the spoon) on toast and drew. Souths couldnt get over Saints who have shown very little to date. Given we have no emotional attachment to those teams, we can look it more objectively. Do we all still think that Brisbane will be right up there, Souths are a good side and Canberra will threaten for the 8, despite their hiccups on the weekend. Im sure we do.
Why do we then panic so much when we lose.
I don think anyone thinks we can win the comp, but I think we have also shown we are not hopeless either.
