ISP Team Announcement: Round 11
Author Dan Talintyre Timestamp Tue 15 May 2018, 04:01 PM

Western Suburbs Magpies Intrust Super Premiership Coach Brett Hodgson has named his squad to take on Penrith this Sunday for their Round 11 clash.

Kickoff for the match is at 11:00am AEST from North Sydney Oval as part of a "Magic Weekend" in the NSW domestic competition that will see three games played at the venue on Sunday.

After a strong 11-0 win over the New Zealand Warriors last weekend, Hodgson has named another strong squad for this week's game, headlined by the likes of Josh Aloiai, Mahe Fonua and Tuimoala Lolohea.

Fonua's return to the centres sees Sam McIntyre push in to the back row in place of Chris McQueen, while Josh Aloiai moves in to the front row alongside JJ Felise with Matt McIlwrick to start at hooker.

Pita Godinet once again partners young gun Tyson Gamble in the halves for Sunday's game.

Pretty strong side. Fonua will be kicking himself for turning up late to training. Tough match against Penrith but hopefully they show the same sort of desperation in defence as last week.

McQueen not named but only number 19 in NRL

Probably going to be in top 17 of NRL squad?

He looked better in the halves than at hooker but he did make a couple errors.

Yep - still the best option for ISP #7 by a long way.

10. Josh Aloiai.

interesting lining up as prop this week.

I think IC has made a mistake leaving him out of the NRL against Penrith.

He was named at 19 in NRL squad and not at all in ISP

Just wondering if it was a sign he might get his 1st run at NRL in tigers colours

Lack of professionalism from Fonua means he takes centre place which McIntyre should be playing in. I find this pretty second rate and Fonua needs to have a good hard look at himself.
