Souths Supporters

Post by Citizen Tiger » Sun 08 Aug, 2010 12:48 am

I had the 'pleasure' of having to sit among the Souths members tonight, on the 25 metre line, courtesy of us being guests of a Souths employee. I have to say that while I'm not easily shocked, offended or surprised at things that sometimes occur at games, it would rate as probably the most unpleasant night I've ever had at the football. I can't honestly find the word to properly describe these pond dwelling miscreants that drape themselves in red and green. These people are living proof that chromosomes don't always sit in a straight line.

When Chris Lawrence was knocked cold the pigs accused him of taking a dive. When he was being escorted from the field, a couple of chain smoking fatties decided he needed a send off, so they walked from 20 rows back, down to the fence to let Lawrence know he was soft and a diver. That scene required two security guards. I don't mind the passion, I don't mind the support, I don't mind the noise, but mate I do mind this kind of idiocy, particularly when they have next to no understanding of what's actually going on in a game and even less knowledge of the rules.

Rubbish night all round

I went to the game last year when we beat them by 50 and their fans all congratulated us, were friendly all game and there was great banter.

All footy teams have good and bad fans mate. Including us. I went to a Tigers game at the SFS last season and half a dozen Tigers fans were absolutely abusing a gay couple as we all walked back towards the city. Morons aren't unique to any particular club.

Haha I know exactly what your talking about, they have got to be the most annoying supporters in the NRL bar none. Was particularly ticked off by the booing of Lawrence, Benji's a pussy chant after he was obviously taken out and there constant booing to try and get a penalty. Cannot stand their supporters!

There are Bulldogs fans that are ALOT worse than Soufs fans.

I had a Souths supporter behind me yelling for Lawrence to get off the field and calling him a pussy because he couldn't take a legal tackle. He also was complaining that "all refs hate Souths for some reason". Complained that the ref was cheating when WT got away with some things but was very quiet when something went souths way. Ruined my night really which was dissapointing becasue even though we lost, at least it was exciting to the end.

Saying that though my 2005 GF experience was hampered by a WT supported having a go at me beacuase I was not yelling, cheering, and swearing for the Tigers for the entire 80 minutes. Nothing pisses me off more than when some peanut stands up and tries to get the whole croud yelling. If I want to yell and swear at the ref I will but I would rather just enjoy watching a live game of footy. Just my 2c.

Souths fans are pretty bad, as are Newcastle's and Canberra's

When we play at Cambo, we are every bit as guilty.

Campbelltown may be earthy, it may be colourful and yes on the odd occasion the ref may be the subject of a perfectly executed tackle, BUT never that bad, nowhere near as guilty...

Not Pratten Park, not Henson, not even Cumberland Oval in the old days
