Player and team stats from the game

Post by willow » Mon 29 Aug, 2011 10:22 pm

1. Moltzen - 161 metres in attack, 1 try, 1 try assist, 1 linebreak, 1 line break assist, 1 offload, 7 tackle breaks, 10 tackles, 2 errors.

The Good - Looked sharp in attack on a couple of occasions. Got across the tryline - just.

The Bad - Hands let him down tonight and stunted the attack on a couple of occasions. Support play not as good as last week.

2. Ryan - 83 metres in attack, 1 try, 1 line break, 1 line break assist, 1 offload, 4 tackle breaks, 4 tackles, 1 missed tackle.

The Good - Did very well to score in the corner in the first half. Safe at the back.

The Bad - Nothing really stood out tonight. If I'm going to be harsh he was slow in turning when the Titans scored their first try, but it's hard to pin the blame on Ryan for that one.

3. Ayshford - 44 metres in attack, 1 try, 1 line break, 2 tackle breaks, 7 tackles, 1 missed tackle.

The Good - Kept up his recent try scoring feats, and solid in defence.

The Bad - Pretty quiet tonight for a change.

4. Utai - 144 metres in attack, 1 try, 1 try assist, 1 line break, 1 line break assist, 1 offload, 7 tackle breaks, 4 tackles, 3 missed tackles.

The Good - Scored a try, handful in attack once again, decent in defence, went well in the centres.

The Bad - Nothing really to note.

5. Tuqiri - 54 metres in attack, 1 try, 1 line break, 2 tackle breaks, 3 tackles, 1 missed tackle.

The Good - Got across the try line in his first game back in a long time.

The Bad - Very rusty and looked to pick up a minor injury late in the game.

6. Marshall - 187 metres in attack, 1 try, 5 goals, 2 try assists, 1 line break assist, 4 line breaks, 1 offload, 8 tackle breaks, 7 tackles, 4 missed tackles, 4 errors.

The Good - Tore the Titans apart at will.

The Bad - Despite the errors it's hard to criticise tonight as he was in another class to everyone else in attack.

7. Lui - 89 metres in attack, 1 try assist, 3 line break assists, 1 line break, 2 offloads, 2 tackle breaks, 18 tackles, 5 missed tackles, 1 error.

The Good - Looked pretty solid all night in attack and defence.

The Bad - Didn't really step up as much as I thought he would, but he wasn't bad at the end of the night.

17. Woods - 166 metres in attack, 1 try assist, 1 line break assist, 1 offload, 5 tackle breaks, 13 tackles, 1 missed tackle.

The Good - Great motor and got through a lot of work in the first half. Strong with the ball and busy in defence.

The Bad - Not tonight.

9. Farah - 67 metres in attack, 1 field goal, 42 tackles, 1 error.

The Good - Typical captain's knock, organised the attack well, defended well and kicked well.

The Bad - Not as prominent in attack as he has been of late.

10. Galloway - 79 metres in attack, 1 tackle break, 17 tackles, 3 missed tackles.

The Good - Solid and reliable.

The Bad - Workrate and impact was down tonight, but it also gave the youngsters a chance to shine. Copped a cork in the quad.

11. Fulton - 53 metres in attack, 1 line break assist, 2 offloads, 2 tackle breaks, 37 tackles, 2 missed tackles, 1 error.

The Good - Workhorse in defence and came up with some excellent tackles including a cracker on Zillman in the second half close to the Tigers line.

The Bad - Poor knock on from the re-start after the Tigers scored their opening try.

12. Ellis - 86 metres in attack, 1 offload, 1 tackle break, 28 tackles, 4 missed tackles, 1 error.

The Good - Solid in attack and defence.

The Bad - Missed a couple of straightforward tackles, but he makes a noticeable difference to the Tigers pack which outweighs the missed tackles.

13. Heighington - 138 metres in attack, 1 try, 1 line break, 3 offloads, 8 tackle breaks, 20 tackles, 1 error.

The Good - Busy in attack and defence, scored a nice try, got away a few offloads and broke plenty of tackles. Also ballplaying before the line in attack.

The Bad - Got bumped over the sideline after making a break in the second half from the re-start.

14. Brown - 30 metres in attack, 1 goal, 1 tackle break.

The Good - Looks to have a big boot on him, gave the ball plenty of air in converting Heighno's try.

The Bad - Did not get enough game time.

16. Groat - 63 metres in attack, 3 tackle breaks, 8 tackles, 1 missed tackle.

The Good - Again looked comfortable out there in attack and defence.

The Bad - Nothing of note.

18. Murdoch-Masila - 94 metres in attack, 1 tackle break, 11 tackles, 3 missed tackles, 1 error.

The Good - Looked threatening on the edges and defended well.

The Bad - Had one loose carry which jolted the ball loose, but that's nitpicking.

19. Flanagan - 59 metres in attack, 1 line break, 1 offload, 3 tackle breaks, 23 tackles, 1 missed tackle.

The Good - Defended well.

The Bad - Just lacks penetration in attack when carting it up the middle.

Try assists - 7
Offloads - 14
Line breaks - 11
Line break assists - 9
Tackles made - 252
1 on 1 tackles - 17
Missed tackles - 30
Tackle breaks - 58
Total metres - 1597
Errors - 12
Penalties - 9
Possession - 55%
Completion rate - 33/44 = 75%

Fullback, both wingers and both centers crossed the stripe tonight.

That highlights good ball movement all over the park. This must have the top sides worried. Add Chris and they will be very nervous.

Thanks Willow. Solid game by the boys. Lets hope that they continue this form next week and into the finals. Great effort from our young forwards tonight.

For the bad on Marshall you could put his intercepted pass.

Wasn't a great performance, but we still got a big win I guess. We'll need to lift if we want to go anywhere in the finals.

I think its a given that we will lift. We always do. Our 3 finals games last year were the 3 best of the series.

When the players, coach and fans arent over the moon with performances that are still yeilding floggings that can only be a very encouraging sign.

Thanks Willow. As Benji said in court: 'My job is to make my outside backs look good!' The outside backs all scored tries tonight. Who'd have thought we'd be running fourth with one week to go in the normal season. What an achievement!
Cheering for the mighty Wests Tigers, all the way from France.

Good work willow. Not the best win, but good for the points difference.
Also good to allow a few players have a rest at the end of the game and still come up with a try and set up for farah's one pointer.

Thought Lui was very very good tonight. He's never going to be a dominant half with Marshall in the side and in that kind of form but he did all he had to in a tidy manner.

Great Recap Willow.

Woods was enourmous last night but i feel sorry for Ayshford. Every time he called for the ball, particularly in the second half, they seemed to go the other way towards Lote & Utai.

Also how good was Brown's conversion!

We were not great, didn't play structured football when required alot of the time and were very lucky we played a side with Toopi is a daze for most of the match.

Hopefully that is out of their system now though and it was at least a good hitout for Ellis and Lote returning from injury.

Our defence was pleasing though

I think they played down Lote's and Utai side to give Lote a solid hit out before finals.
