“For years I collected data on athletes and then regretted that I hadn’t given the data more context with footnoting at the time. But unfortunately, it’s too late then. Without thorough footnoting, you’re just looking at blobs of data that you can’t attribute to a drill, activity, or physical quality.”
A more accurate analysis of the raw data can minimise human error in rehab or provide earlier treatment. Great news that Andrew has found a way to help improve those outcomes.
Still takes outside influences to turn mud into bricks …
Yep, agree, if you’re talking about those outside influences being the people who analyse the data. All the real time info Andrew adds in the footnote only serves to help interpret the data more accurately. Information / knowledge is only valuable if it’s shared and used though.
And how to communicate it to the players to help achieve their optimum performance
So if zerotackle is correct we have Eisenhuth , Clark ,Jennings , Rowdy , Benji , McIntyre , McQueen , Seyfarth , Dylan Smith and Elijah Taylor off contract at seasons end
If I kept 3 …Huth ,McIntyre …maybe Clark
Its kind of weird to not have a spot for Benji.
I get it. He just introduces too muchcrazy in the team. I also get with Doulieni at 5/8, maybe JAC at Fullback (or a fresh face), brooks at 7 and Reynolds somewhere…it looks like were out of room.
Yes, would hire Huth, Seyfath, McIntrye and maybe Clark on the end.
There is a hazy rumour floating around that Ricky Stuart has inquired about Luke Brooks availability to replace George Williams in Canberra.
Not sure on reliability, source has 50% hit rate. But one worth watching if it develops. By that I mean, watching Brooks out the door.
There was an enquiry by Wigan to see if they could get George Williams immediately and suggested a three way swap with Hastings moving to the Tigers, Brooks to Canberra and Williams to Wigan. I believe it was nothing more than an enquiry/suggestion which was shot down.
I wonder how much freight we’d expect to carry for Brooks still has a few years and on big $ which i cant see the raiders taking on. I think Brooks does need to go for his sake and our sake but to carry the can for this to happen would be silly especially when we’ve a;ready signed Hastings for next year.
Hastings is a downgrade from Brooks
The only people who even think brooks is crap , is the fans on social media , and Mick Ennis ( who has a bee in his bonnet because his close mate in Reynolds was wearing the magpies jersey last year ) There’s been no mention out of the club that they’re even remotely unhappy with him. I’m curious if he does play second receiver , how many try assists he will get . Or if he will prove everyone right on here .
You don’t think bringing Madden into the side is a sign?
Sign, sign everywhere a sign -
I reckon this could work. We’d have a lock who can make a bust and he’d be the most skillful lock in the comp. The question is could he handle it defensively.
Then Brooks would have to get his running and passing game back. Then Madden would have to prove he is a first grader.
Lot of if’s but maybe it’d work.
Doueihi can’t be lazy if that was to happen.
His work rate off the ball is terrible.
Locks these days need to be very fit, full of energy both in attack and when defending.
Doueihi isn’t lazy. He is going great for us. I do agree that it’d be tough on him but maybe he could do it.
He is, even admitted last week or the week before saying Robbie is kicking up the backside due to being lazy. He has alot of upside but without the ball he is very ordinary.
He’s hard on himself tho.
If he’s lazy, what would you call our other players?
Douohei, Laurie and our 9s are the most active.
It’s just how Lebanese people are mate.
Hard workers who always thrive to do better.
It’s on our blood.
Check out the first try in the Dragons game. That’s what people mean when they say he’s lazy.
WT’S are in the enviable position of having a lot of young talent coming through whilst it would be good to get them in first grade without serving time in reggies could be detrimental to their long term futures a young Benji comes to mind and now Rorters have a young Sam Walker whilst he has been sensational he’s picked up various injuries which will no doubt come against him as the season goes on due to Rorters current injuries.
We’ve had Simpkin come in and after two good performances is now finding it difficult and Cini found one week your up there next week you’re not.
Promoting young guys has to be handled very carefully.
Brooks replacing Captain GuMbye in the leadership group and assuming witches hat responsibilities.
Wow you made no sense , other a bit of closet racism sprinkled in there . Good for you …
Wow, really! You are trying to play the race card? I assume you are referring to witches hats or Captain GuMbye? If so, go get some perspective from other posts on this forum of what these references relate to. Both refer to players that do not contribute much on the field but are always selected. Nothing to do with race!
Obviously I offended you by criticising your buddy Brooksie rather than Benji bashing as per your agenda. Sorry for having a different opinion.
BTW, you posted on this forum about a “black dog” last month. Not sure why the dog’s colour is relevant, but based on my agenda and taking your comment out of context I have reason to believe you must be racist and a hypocrite. Good for you …
What ? Ones referencing depression the other is using someone’s last name as a payout . Like I said closet racism . Could you draw a longer bow? You do realise black means the lack of colour ? As in what happens to your brain , when you fall into the abyss . It’s a metaphor . How long did it take you to look at all my posts to find something to pay me out? Don’t be racist . It’s not hard . What does Benji have to do with witches hats and brooks ? I love benji . His defence infuriated me last year . And he played for himself IMO the last 8 games .
Not interested in a fight , or even offended . Just think it lacks class . It’s like saying “your mum” .
Gumby is green.
Does that still make it racist?
PS He knew what black dog meant…was just illustrating what can happen if people take things the wrong way.
Yep , I saw the pun this time around . I. Missed it first time , I thought he was just being racist . Which I thought was a bit meh . Now I just see it’s just a dad joke . I see his point . Thanks for clearing that up . I honestly didn’t see it .
He will be bombed into the stone age immediately. You can so “so what, he gets a chance to make up for it”…but he had that chance after the 3rd or fourth chance today.
Let him catch bombs for a few weeks in KOE. We can not afford that in first grade.
I totally agree. We need to rotate players until they don’t get caught out. If they get caught out drop them and tell them they have to learn in reserve grade. Fix the problem and perform in reserve grade and you will get another chance.
That’s exactly how you destroy the confidence of every player in the backline, an and destroy and chemistry/combinations between players
Lots of points here.
Does confidence have any impact on performance or does performance impact confidence ? My take is that any player who gets dropped and then loses all confidence and cannot play to a high level again isn’t a first grader.
As for chemistry and combinations I agree with you but we are losing anyway.
I’m also not stating drop every single player. I’m just stating when they get caught out like Cini was. That was extreme and not a little stuff up.
He needs to work on aspects of his game. He doesn’t offer enough to accept his shortcomings especially in a position like winger.
it’s about becoming a technically better player without the pressure of performing in first grade.
Last week he produced the best performance from any of our wingers all season. By a mile. That in itself warrants a second chance.
Nof, Kepaoa and Talau have all survived numerous shocking performances. For Madge to start picking and choosing which players deserve a second chance would be very dangerous.
Agree Nof talau and kepoa have all survived one shocker at least. Give Cini another shot
I was nervous about him coming back on in the second half, he’s been poor in his second stints this season, but he was good against the Dragons and maybe even added something to the team when he came back.
Look this bloke only plays an average of 40 mins per game. I’m very disappointed with him so far, and I don’t suppose there’ll be any improvement in him or the mins he plays…he may have experience but if he’s not on the field he is not able to impart any of this experience or captain the team as he should😠
You do realise he doesn’t just impart any of his experience only on the field he does it of the field too. He gets the minutes Madge allows him! We also bought him before the new rules made the game faster. He was never here to play big minutes. We aren’t paying heaps and he’s not as bad as everyone has made him out to be.
Yes I guess you are right…I know there is the off field side that needs someone with a good attitude and I’m sure he has that, so I’m willing to see how he goes😊
I’m not saying we should target him but Woods is still a quality prop doing what he did for us all those years ago. I think he made 46 tackles and ran 148m in a badly beaten side on Saturday night. If one of our props did that the cascade of orgasms would be heard from Mars.
Agree. Woods is actually playing quality footy at the Sharks. He would be a walk up starter in our side if be came back & would improve the side. Issue is the way he left. If you run a business and in the market to improve the squad & he is an option they would have to look at him.
I could be good at what I do and if I publicly slag off my ex-employer while I was in their employ they would look stupid for having me back.
But we still bought Farah back.
Yep…we bought Farah back…and we have now gone one step further and rewarded him by making him Club Ambassador ???🤔 ???
I just dont get it.
What dont you get?
Farah is the clubs best Hooker next to Benny Elias. Jason Taylor forced Farah out due to Jason having a personality conflict. So we hired Manly’s 9 and it was the worst decision ever. We bring Farah back and we dont SUCK at 9.
Oh yea the whole Benji, Farah please loan us 100k, 200k to keep the doors open.
Club is just not thinking long term. A player like Farah should have been progressed from 9 to a lock/second hooker role like Cameron Mcinnes or Brandon Smith play at the storm. But hey we had to have dramaz
Elias never played for the club.
And what this Benji and Farah loaning money to the club …lol
Ben Matulino - We paid him a fortune and he was nowhere near even Packer’s level. He actually produced okay but we could have got similar production out of a much cheaper option.
From what i have heard and also what was reported Ben was on less than Packer and imo delivered more in 2 years than Packer has in 4.
For mine our forward stocks felt possibly their biggest loss since Ellis departed when Matulino left the field at Parramatta Stadium. We were so much stronger in the middle with him there, even though he was bone on bone in his knees.
We have never been the same since that evening, with opponents no longer looking to avoid anyone in our defensive line.
Agreed Ben gave us decent value for money and i could not fault his efforts for the club and his teammates.Packer however
