Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Agree mate, needs some luck with injuries. Dogs just think he's shit because his been injured the whole time. He'd be a great pick up for second row.
TBH though I don't think signing players with extensive injury problems is good business for us. We've got more than enough busted up players as it is. Fingers crossed approach would more than likely end in tears (and wasted $$$).

Yeah I'm not so convinced about the whole "incredibly well run club" tripe that floats around the Roosters. Not having a shot at you personally by the way.
I just find it very hard to believe that the Roosters have some sort of 'Colonel's secret recipe' formula that not 1 other club in the comp has had the ability to emulate over the last decade or so. They may not be operating outside of the salary cap on the official books but it wouldn't surprise one iota if they are doing something outside the books to entice blokes there for supposedly bugger all money compared to what they get offered to go elsewhere.
I agree. How does Joseph Manu knock back a $1m contract from the warriors to stay and play centre for the roosters ?

One thing i've noticed from watching juniors is that we have huge depth coming through in the middle of the field.
Props playing Flegg/SG Ball include: Pole, Ma'anaima (Flegg), Tofaeano (Wests), Aho, Tuipolutu, Sukkar (Balmain)
Locks: Tumeth, Guyan (Flegg), Matamua (Wests) Fa'agatu (arrives 2023)

Johnny Tuipolutu looks an absolute beast. Like a cross between Kikau and Civoniceva, great impact off the bench, very powerful and athletic, long arms. Maybe could become a back rower if he has the fitness and agility as he continues to develop.
Sukkar appears a young Twal type workhorse, dependable.
Tofaeano is like a young Junior Paulo, hits the ball up very hard and fast.

The fact Matamua played 5/8 and kicked goals for Wests on the weekend shows his versatility and that he has the ball playing skills combined with the size of a modern lock. Fa'agatu sounds very similar to Matamua and is captaining Marsden again this year (captained the seniors as a 16 year old last year). Both these players are leaders by example and enthusiasm.

In NSW Cup Rua Ngati is a powerful hooker/lock, Aden Perry, Sione Tupou and Felix Smith all offer depth and potential.

I'm not saying any of the above should just be thrown into NRL, but we should see a number of them make their way through to first grade in the coming years.

Other positions aren't nearly so strong though, but will be interesting to see how Flegg goes once they stop rotating lots of players and lock down on a regular starting lineup and build continuity.
Hartchers work, got 2 give him some credit

Not to mention they have signed Brandon smith for 2023 and have the 2 beat young talents in the game I’m not saying they are over there cap I think they are just an incredibly well run club
Mate I was done with their BS explanations when they signed up Tedesco and Cronk and tried to equate that with releasing Pearce, SKD and Guerra.

Show me another club in the past 40 years that has signed up two million-dollar players in a single recruitment drive.

How much of a bite would he take out of our salary cap?
Re Jarryd Hayne...
I have a problem with Hayne in that the trial process has been stuffed up. The Judge was pretty damning along with the testimony. While the appellate court upheld that it wasn't a valid trial, the substance of the trial though hasn't been corrected though only instructions from a Judge.

Not touching him with a 10" pole.

Ofcourse it could be a setup, we don't know. We don't need that drama while somewhere like Parramatta or the Dogs may be better able to handle that.

As a player, hey he is younger then Benji and still would have something to offer. He was always skill over training effort though. We saw how Cooper Cronk and SBW lifted Easts, i can see Hayne having that effect on a team but I can see Hayne being lazy at training not pushing others. If we did not hire Starford Toa, Hayne would be a good reserve back, playing wise don't need him.

Person wise don't want him.
