His stupid childish smiling into the camera after a kicking it dead by a country mile
shows me where this club is and sums us up.
They all treat it as a big joke, this guys supposed to be a leader - one of the (c)s, leading
by example - he should be filthy at that play giving the opposition easy meters and
seven tackles but all he comes up with is an idiotic response to a TV camera.
Ive never seen this guy act so unproffesionally before, yet like many others before
him, he gets here and everythings a joke.
He is an embarrasment to all WTs supporters that made the effort to travel up there yesterday

Just on the play I thought it had been called back for something else and play was dead when he kicked it.

I’d lost interest by that point and wasn’t paying full attention so could be very much mistaken

People point out all the time how the players laugh and joke on the field after losses. I posted the below pic in another thread but it’s indicative of the game in general, not just us. The players don’t care anymore. They are on million dollar contracts and circle jerk each other on social media. Players of the past were not exposed to social media and weren’t earning millions, so maybe that helped them take things more seriously. For context, the below is Brandon Smith replying to Latrell. You know, cos they are all mates. No need to get upset for someone mocking me after a golden point loss, that doesn’t burn at all. Long gone are the days where players had real animosity towards each other. Darryl Brahman still resents Les Boyd for breaking his jaw. I’m sure Latrell and Joey Manu are best buds.

It was embarrassing. The ref blew his whistle ages ago and he goes for a stupid chip, chase, regather. Big smile to all the pissed off fans at the game and otherwise. Wish he got binned again. Refund please.

Off the field, have a laugh and a beer. On it, take it bloody serious people pay good money to take their family out and expect players to take it seriously. That sin binning was worse than him laughing!

Obviously he heard the whistle, he isn't stupid enough to do a chip and chase on tackle 1.

Since he heard the whistle, he wastes his energy kicking the ball, chasing after it and regathering the ball. He should be making a hell of a lot of cover tackles if he had that much energy at that point in the game. He must be very fit.

Lazy and stupid.

Hard to believe this guy played origin 3 years ago and was the starting 5/8 for a top 8 team last year.

I guess, in that instance above, Smith has taken the piss out of him after a big loss for Latrell and Latrell thinks it’s awesome. As much as I hate Gutherson, after Sami mocked him in round 1, Gutherson said he was counting down the days till he plays Gold Coast again. At first I though it was a moronic thing to focus on, however, having thought about it and seeing the pathetic exchange above, good for him. Even if it’s just talk to appease the supporters, that’s something at least.

That’s another side of it. We want our players to bust their gut but he’s just mucking around. He had three or four other errors that were just super low percentage plays. Bellamy would have ripped his head off.

Perfect example of the disassociation of thaughts and feelings of the game between players and fans.

Yea its all a joke to these clowns. I think i am just too old for this new age NRL. I played at a reasonable level - and wow we only ever had 1 captain. We hated the opposition and went out to destroy them. Plenty of drinks and laughs afterwards - with my teamates - screw the opposition. If an opposition player even smiled after you made a mistake you would lay one on them. Not so these days - you have to wear players mocking you with a pat on the head - personally i think you should be allowed one free punch to any prick who does that. Yea the game is more professional and definitely 100 miles faster but is it any tougher or better - i seriously doubt it.
