James Roberts

if thats the case you wouldn't bring old busted wayne benett to your club would you. you rather pay big bucks for young sebold then if doesnt work out you pay big bucks for young trent barrett then if that doesnt work out .......

I’m a regular. The Jimmy the jet rescued a cat thread is my favourite
So am I and I value your contributions and opinions always,we may differ on many occasions, but with me Im always willing to give a guy a fair chance at being an asset to the club even if he has contributed while only 50% fit so we could field a team while others were out...Im glad the cat got rescued 👍🙂

You’d probably get a start on the board mate 👍

Is there seriously a debate about if we resign James Roberts before he even steps back on the field after a back injury?

Let’s look at the facts:
1. He hasn’t done much since he has been here (I’ve heard the excuses)
2. He’s recovering from back surgery which will be a struggle
3. He was on a train and trail at the start of the year and only signed on minimum wage because no one else came along

Good bloke I’m sure but let’s not rush to sign him. I can guarantee he is not in demand

Probably earning about 10 grand a game based on his lack of games. Give that to a talented kid ffs

Why not give the guy a chance to prove himself and give back to us,as you say he is on minimum and completely fit he would destroy any of the centres we have atm...
Another year on minimum is a small risk for good output....

Yep give him a chance to prove himself and if he earns a shot sure sign him up in the off season. What’s the rush?

Also he hasn’t been in form/fit to destroy anyone for a long time.

Seriously? The blokes on nothing.
If he can come back and contribute would be great.
How much is Brooks on every game?
Just because he is on nothing doesn’t mean we should sign him. We signed him on nothing this year for 1 year at the last minute because no one else came along. Nothing that has happened this year would change the clubs stance, if anything a back injury and not really firing probably confirms the original position of not signing him.

I wish the guy the best but I don’t even think he is in our top 17 fully fit.

I had back surgery 10 yrs ago. Could hardly walk before it. Was pain free when i woke up and best id been in yrs fully going within 6 weeks
I had 2 discs shaved about 5 years ago and was up walking within 2hrs. Signed off to go back to work on full duties 10 days later and told to go back to the gym with no real restrictions within a month. The scar was less than an inch long and is now completely gone. They have come a long way! A mate had the same op in 2000 and was off work for 6 months and in a hospital bed for about 6 weeks. His scar is 6" long.

Tend to agree, but those against will always argue that it is a top 30 spot used up that could be better utilized.

I had my tonsils out not long ago and I was back drinking beer 🍺 in no time 🤪

Naden was playing good football 18 months ago at the Panthers.

James Roberts, hasn't played good footy in years - IMO

As I said, I like Jimmy as a person but he doesn't offer a lot as a player.

Find it interesting he's saying he feels better than ever after surgery- probably wants another year... no thanks.

Rather see us go after, as @pawsandclaws1 mentioned... Kayal Iro ... reportably being shopped to other clubs.

Could be our best back on the roster.

Anyway,
Naden > Jet

Brings more consistency because at least he'll be able to take the field. Roberts never plays... 1 game then needs a 4 week rest.

I've already seen Naden run fast more than once....
"Jimmy can Jog" just been bumbing along since he's been here....
