Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I very rarely suggest a new signing, however, today is different.
Joey Manu
Give him what he wants in his contract
Play him in his preferred position

The job is made harder without Madge, but surely this is the perfect fit marquee signing we’ve been waiting for?

Play him where?

We need better than Hastings….And Brooks of course. Can’t forget him otherwise some will think you love the guy.

Agree mate both halves have been underwhelming.

Not sure in time if a change of coach will help that or not. Time will tell.

He's amazing.

Such a talent.

No way Roosters would lose him.

1 or 6. I prefer him at 1.
The Burtons and Manus eventually fall from the tree if the cap works.

Bit of a risk with cooks playing him in centre all his career

Interesting to see if he'll last a 6

But agree he needs move and challenge himself somewhere

Most clubs would be prepared to give him wants. We’re zero chance with or without Madge.

There was talk a while back, before the Warriors signed Walsh, that they offered him $1M to be their fullback. Instead he signed with the Rorters for $400K. At least that's how I remember it. Was probably a DT or Fox Sports article, with figures bound to be made up, but anyway, even if the numbers were off on both sides of the offers, still shows what the "also rans" footy teams are up against.

(Edit: found one article about this - https://www.sportingnews.com/au/lea...mes off-contract at,to move across the Tasman.)

What makes you say we’re zero chance to land Manu?
Where do you start. On field results, front office, the fact rookie coaches turn us down, it doesn’t bode well for chasing marquee players. When has a Rooster ever left Bondi to come to the demountable‘s at Concord?

If he’s prepared to take less than half of what he’s on to stay at the Roosters (yes, I am aware) then it’s a clear sign he’s happy where he is.
