Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I like to see our first 2-3 hits ups from forwards 2-3 wide of the ruck, left then right. We have to make our hit ups less predictable.
By taking the hit ups wider, it forces them to run faster and harder.
We did this a couple of time yesterday and made ground easily, then they stopped and were easy pickings often being tackled by the markers.

I believe we need to get Franklin Pele from the Sharks as he runs from the back fence and that is what we need, not more workers that can tackle for a set or two before the opposition score. This would create some momentum whereas we have zero go forward at present and are predictable each set with 5 hit ups and a Bomb.
Guler from the Raiders would be good and in a perfect world Tapine would be #1 signing since Gareth Ellis.

No use having salary cap space when you don't spend it on quality players.

WT really need 30 players who play with heart and soul each and every week, play to their full potential and have pride in the jersey.

Hello
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone home?
Come on now
I hear you're feeling down
And I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again

everyone knows that the 1st run will be by:
- Nofoaluma (if the ball is on the right side), and 2nd by Maumalo, and
- Maumalo (if the ball is on the left side) followed by Nofoaluma.

The defence can just concentrate where Nofoaluma and Maumalo are and limit our go forward.

We desperately need 4-5 props ( 2 to start, 2 to 3 on the bench) of
J Papalii, J W-H, Haas, Fanua-Blake, Fisher-Harris, Paulo type.

you've clearly never watched us. and no, no team in the comp has wingers taking 2 hits ups in a row. if a kick is to one side of the field then it's the centre who's on that side who usually takes the second and starts working it towards the middle of the field.

And FYI we had 5 props playing yesterday (6 if you include Joffa).

The problem is just as much the strategy as the players. We have a terrible and practically non existent game plan, and the worst squad in the comp to try and implement this crappy plan. And then to make things even worse, we've slapped them all in the face and removed any motivation they have for the game, except for any personal pride they may have

Question for anyone who has watched all the games since Madge got the can has the effort improved or decline ? I have watched parts but not full games

^ simple game. If you tackle and run harder than the opposition you’ll invariably win.
That’s all the warriors did yesterday.
Look at their side, they may be a bit of a mis fit squad but.
Montoya - Fit and Fast
DWZ - Solid, quick enough and smart enough.
Pompey- Young tall and fast.
Aiken- experienced centre battle hardened and fit.
Halves so so but can fire when needed though Johnson is still quick when it’s needed.
Forward pack.
Mobile, big, powerful mixed with ball playing workers of Sironen, Harris and Curran.

Did you expect anything less?

Yep Pele from Sharks and Pere from Cowboys both would be good signings. Then we could have a bench next year of:
Pole, Pele, Pere.

Pere is off contract this year also and good size in 193cm, 106kg and 23 years old

Bang on, watching the game live yesterday without Ken we wouldn't have made the 30 metre line, the poor guy was gassed late because he was getting all of our yards and having to then get back on the wing. Without him and Nofo we would struggle to get to the 20 because our forwards are KOE standard at best.
The issue yesterday was the poor execution of the game plan as opposed the forwards not doing their job. They were in position two wide but rarely got the ball. This was a halves problem yesterday more than anything. I'm not saying our forwards are great but I'm pretty sure the game plan was to attack the edges with mobile forwards - not four hitups with the outside backs followed by a shot at the edge and a kick. When they got it right they made yards - they just didn't get much of it right.

Agreed and I expect this is what Noddy asked for based on the location of the forwards on the paddock in attack. It certainly isn't what he got. Noffa and Ken were so predictable with the hitups that the markers and A defenders had a field day. Once we stop tripping over ourselves or running behind our decoys in attack we might get a little better.

What I didn't see from our halves was any attempt to go to the line and cut the forwards out to get our centres at the committed defence.

Good plan - shit execution me thinks!
