Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

For myself - It's not that at all.....

I don't see 1 player any better than the other. Both bring different things, Both have deficiencies.
Brooks is one of this teams best players - And should be picked as such.
AD when fit is also one of the better players in this team and should be picked as such...
Fitting them both in is where the issue lies.

Bag on Brooks all you like - He's been better than Hastings has since Madge left.
- Edit.... Most of the year he's been a better player than JH.
And Doueihi hasn't done anything to take anyones' spot.

Brooks contributes little to nothing outside defence. He barely takes on the line these days, his kicking game is mediocre for a half that has been here for 9 years. Not to mention he has played under 4 different coaches and has barely improved if at all. His best game was his debut game....in 2013. He has had every excuse given to him under the sun. It's always been one of Robbie/Benji/Forwards/Coaches fault.

Hastings has roughly the same number of TA, LBA, forced drop outs as Brooks this year but has played in less games and is currently playing injured. Brooks has not been better than Hastings and up until he was in a boot, Hastings was having a far better year.

We also looked like a better team with AD at 5/8 last year. Granted he's just come back but Brooks has also done nothing to warrant his ongoing selection.

How long do we have to continue to watch Brooks kick the ball out on the full, give away 7 tackle sets, kick the ball into the other teams legs before you accept that he has contributed about as much as John Morris did during his time at the club?

I just thought the same thing when I saw Offa endorsing Wolfe. Players need to butt out of that sort of discussion. Publicly at least.

Luke Brooks on his final year of contract

If a club is willing to pay it who wouldn't sign the contract, ha, play on.

Bizarre comments

Wests Tigers star Adam Doueihi has dropped a selection bombshell by asking interim coach Brett Kimmorley to pick him in NSW Cup if he won’t select the gun ball-player in his preferred position of five-eighth.

Doueihi, the Wests Tigers best player last season, has been selected in the centres this week as the Tigers continue to search for the club’s first win since Kimmorley took over leading into round 14. Fox Sports has been told by Tigers insiders that Doueihi contacted Kimmorley on Tuesday to ask the question about playing five-eighth in the NSW Cup after the coach selected him in the centres.

Tigers head of football Tim Sheens then smoothed over the potential standoff as the club searches for answers to try to snap a four-match losing streak
He's kidding himself. He signed with us to play fullback. He was a second string player at Souths. He may be in our top 3 players, but that isn't saying much. He wouldnt be a walk start at 5/8 in the current top 8 sides.

I’d say playing under 4 different coaches would be a detriment to your career, not enhance it tbh …

Unless we’re talking multiple premiership winning coaches

Mate he was signed because he was better than most of the playing group we had. Not any second stringer

First string here, deservedly

Definitely but we don't need players demanding they play in the positions they want and then sulking about it when they don't get what they want.

I love Doueihi but if he is that much of a prima donna see you later.

I hope it's not true or just a small little dummy spit and he pulls his head in and works hard to prove he deserves the spot.

Brooks can expect the Milford effect for his next contract

He is gone. That has been obvious since prior to this season starting. He either killed it when Doueihi was out or he was going to lose his spot.

If he plays on it'll be for minimal dollars at our or any other club.

I could be wrong but this is something that you could basically bank on.
