Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

I'll tell you something. He isn't really good enough to be a half in our team but he could be our best half.

Hastings was okay. Doueihi frustrates me. I continually support him but he has been real poor since coming back from injury.

He set up two tries and put in some good kicks.

The problem with his detractors is that they don't see any of the good stuff he does.

I've already stated how poor his option taking at critical times is.

In all seriousness can anyone justify picking Hastings and Doueihi ahead of Brooks. I think they can overrated due to Brooks continual dud plays at critical times.

Set up two tries? He played the role of a centre well after he'd already blown the game with multiple misreads and poor execution. He's horrible. Doesn't lack talent or heart but cannot make the right decision. It would be heartbreaking watching his play as a forward in this game watching opportunity and advantage blown time and again by poor execution and misreading of the play. Just awful awful play.

Doueihi has been good. He runs well and now his kicking game is coming back. Weird you defend Brooks and knock doueihi but this is the Brooks thread and I don't think doueihi had any culpability in the many blunders of Brooks. Got to got to be dropped.

He struggles making the right decision but I can't call him horrible. He is horrible compared to Moses who I hate with a passion.

He created tries for us. He busts his gut. In all seriousness rank Hastings, Douiehi and Brooks ? You'd have to be am absolute blind moron to state that Brooks wasn't at least as good as Hastings and probably better. Doueihi was a non-entity.

This is from someone who has consistently stated Brooks needs to go and Hastings and Doueihi need to get their shot. I also think Hastings and Doueihi have to earn that shot.

I think we can rule a line through Hastings or Doueihi playing at lock. Maybe Doueihi could do it but is he better than Joe O or Matamua ?

Mate I'm basically Doueihi's no 1 fan but he was ordinary. He did next to nothing.

Doueihi put up some excellent bombs and did a huge amount of hard slog hit ups off our own line. That's the only opportunity centres get in our games. Ridiculous you criticise him. He got involved wherever he could.
And as for rankings of halves, it's not hard at all:
Hastings
Doueihi
Then anyone else bar Brooks because Brooks is not able to play in the halves. He's just not.

On tonight don’t see how anyone can defend him. With a young team he made 2 very costly dumb decisions

1) kick on the 2nd with a player short, like that was the dumbest decision ever & not one an experienced half makes.

2) ran in as 3rd marker on our line leading to Moses try

Removing the knock on after the missed moses shot & his failed kick attempt that led to the mahoney try or kick out on the full (after he botched the same play in the 1st half) or even the disjointed attack when he fed the ball to forwards not in position to run it.

He just is totally confidence shot and needs reserve grade time

Sure he set up 2 tries but lets put that into perspective - Papa was off and the game was over.

Re AD and Hastings zero idea if they will click. AD hasn’t had a chance to set the world on fire, he got zero ball today but last game was the only one to create anything in 30mins which was more than any other player in 3 games prior. Right now Brooks is very costly & has zero ability to win us a game.
