Don't think I'm being precious mate. Steve Roach has been calling us Balmain for years on TV and I've never reacted once because he's a high-functioning idiot but I do think it's disrespectful of the game's head not to get our name right. Would have reacted the same equally if he called us the Magpies.
 
Well technically this is a Balmain issue. It's also a Wests issue. So Vlandys is only half-insensitive.

This is like the bit where I sometimes accidentally say "England" when I mean "UK" and my Scottish wife rails on me for equating England with the entire union. And she never quite understands that its not that I don't care or misunderstand, it's that I spent the first 15 or more years of my life calling that place "England", without understanding the nuances of the nomenclature, and it's partially hard-wired into my brain.

For some older people Tigers still defaults to Balmain. But don't worry those insensitive people will eventually die and it will be less and less of an issue.

Yep, ive been a balmain tiger from 1946, but in 2000 became a west tiger, the man made a mistake and said balmain, im sure it was just a slip up.

You mean the part about being equally offended if he called us Magpies. You know, I wrote it like I meant it but you just never know until it happens. Anyway, I like the way you disagree - firm but respectful.
 
My second favourite guy running the competition is David Gallop after Big Ken maybe it's time to bring him back
