I was thinking about this same thing today. You’d be spewing if he comes back on the books at full price and misses the year because he was playing for another club.
Anyone have some better knowledge surrounding this aspect of the loan system or is it just the risk you take for a player/cap relief?

Maybe he feels entitled for sticking by the club when nearly everyone else bailed.
But imo he's attitude and putting in for us has been on a consistently higher level than many others n the squad for a number of years which is a sad reflection of our squad despite his former defensive shortcomings which appear to have been ironed out this year.

Nofa wouldn't be going to Melbourne if he was being picked in FG - they wouldn't let Laurie or Douehi go. If you think the exercise to let him go down there is to not sort him out( within a proven system under Bellamy) on the field and possibly off then I think you are off the mark - hence it isn't the Bulldogs and he isn't JAC. That is my point.

Every club has to spend the salary cap in full every year, then every year like the ATO , the NRL do audits on the cap , fines etc.
