Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Within reason I agree. It's like last season when everyone was in a tizzy about re-signing Stef and signing Finucane.

Same as getting worked up about re-signing Hastings and Doueihi.

You can let deals go if they aren't good deals.

I think we need Klemmer especially since we released Musgrove and I can't see us getting Safiti or Ponga.

I suppose I'm stating there is a middle ground.

**** Coming from the no 1 fence sitter on the forum.
Our framework must change from "we shall be happy that any "has been" signed for us" to "how to buy/promote the player that will improve the team the most" or "aim to the stars and ... "
And I will argue that J W-H, Papalii, or Saifiti will improve our team more then Klemmer and Lodge, but if you say "Klemmer is the Man" we only fool ourselves!
Regarding the players we need ATM (in the order of importance):
- props (3-4),
- 2nd rowers (2-3),
- centre (RC),
- wing (RW).

I was at this game as all my friends were St George wankers.🤣

Stats: Peter Langmack

Debuted at Parramatta in 1971 before heading further west to Penrith in 1973.

Langmack would play 13 matches in his first season at the Panthers, crossing for one try.

He would start in all 22 matches in 1974 at lock. In the match against St. George at Penrith Park, he crossed for 5 tries, which to this day remains a club record.

He would play two more seasons at the Panthers before leaving at the end of the 1976 season, where he would return to the Eels. He retired at the end of the 1978 season.

He was the older brother of Paul who played over 300 first grade matches at Canterbury, Western Suburbs and the Roosters, and his sister Diane is currently employed as the public relations manager at the Panthers.
My unc was an nrl ref. We went to kogarah and the prick penalised us out of the game. On the drive home I said you cost us that game you prick of a ref. And he said Langmack was being a pest again and decided to penalise him every time he opened his mouth.
Moral of the story is refs suck even if they are related.

But what do we do when all those you say yes to say no to us?
I don't see how this type of attitude helps. Yes it's fair to say we won't reward mediocrity but it is in no way realistic to completely overhaul the roster with star players.
I'm not sure if some are not absorbing the fact that whether they rate Douehi or not personally, that he will be picked up easily by another club but there is no guarantee we can replace him with anyone better.
There are not enough quality players to go around and currently very few who want to play at WTs. Like most of our players he would be better if he had better players around him, and that is never going to happen here while ever we weaken the team and strengthen the lament thread.

As by far the slowest team in the comp, it's obvious we need leg drive in the forwards, and speed in the halves and backline,. Until we stop arsing around with plodders, and set our sights higher we will not compete . I know we are in a difficult situation owing to poor recruitment, but it is imperative that we do not keep repeating past errors, by re-signing maybys. Extensions of contracts for average players is a waste.

The 22-year-old burst onto the scene in 2020, scoring four tries on debut. He increased that tally to 23 tries from 38 appearances across three seasons, including a try in the Panthers’ grand final win over the Eels.

Staines became somewhat of a cult figure at the foot of the mountains after crossing for six tries in his first two NRL games, earning the nickname the ‘Forbes Ferrari’.

Staines says he’s looking forward to a new start under coach Tim Sheens.

I’m sure Wests Tigers will make strong progress in 2023.

“The club has a new coaching staff, incredible facilities, some great new signings, and a strong junior nursery, so I’m really excited to be a part this club.”

Sheens says Staines is a player he looks forward to working with.

“Charlie has shown what he is capable of,” said Sheens.

“Like most of our squad, he’s young and still learning.

I’m confident Charlie will continue his development at our club and it’s great to have him on board."

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe says Staines is a welcome addition.

“We are delighted to have Charlie join the Wests Tigers," said Pascoe.

He’s a proven speedster, a premiership-winner, and a player with immense talent.

“I would also like to thank Tyrone for his efforts and wish him and his family the best in years to come.”

Great piece of business being it's a low risk 1 year deal. Hopefully he can put on some size, score a lot of tries and finally live up to his potential.

Almost a paid train and trial.
Does hint that noone else was really interested.
He Is better than most, if not all, our current outside backs though and will be interesting to see if he goes to wing or 1
