Josh Jackson Retires Immediately

This was interesting on the dogs forum:

This has some repercussions for us as we are chasing Wade.
Also scrolling down,
Some think this guy has some connections with Nasheed, who was known as having a lot of inside gossip from the Bulldogs club.

Gus taking some of Jackson cash ready to make a play for Hastings or Brooks 2024. Rumour is dogs need 100k or so to top up kikau and mahoney contracts for 2023 so would leave 450k or 500k to spend in 2023
Makes you think but don't think Hastings is necessarily like that but if Sheens was adamant he plays 13 and he didn't want to he wanted to play 7 in 2023, could he ask for a release and would it be granted?
The club has been burnt by Gus on many occasions

Don’t think you can get long service discount from another club … you need to have played those qualifying years at the one club.

Look you'd think that and it makes instinctive sense, and thats how it used to be, but they changed the rules nearly ten years ago to be just somene who has been an NRL player for 8 or 10 years qualifies for the squad for a 200k discount.

As it stands, dogs dont get that anymore, so they are only saving 400, and not 600.

That 200k figure is whether you have 1 or 10 players. I dont like it.

The smart play from the dogs here is purchase Wade, and he basically plays for free as now their most experienced player is Okenbour, even then they might lose him to us if word is true.
