He can put the ball down, his problem is his sideways running metres vs his forward running metres....

I still think he will do much better behind our much improved forward pack.

We have a number of players who have never reached even close to their potential.

It's finally about to change.

As a recruitment move, the tigers have improved with the Staines / Peachy move.

Not sure about that. On raw talent alone Howarth and Katoa could be the best backrow pairing of the next decade. Welch, NAS and Kamikamika are good middles. Loiero and MacDonald aren't flash but are workhorses. Probably still a little short on depth but still a pretty good pack to go with a first class spine.

They also got that ex eels players from the ESL ...Tepai Moeroa ...will probably end up being Ryan Hoffman at the Storm .....Bellamy can do that with a player

Seriously, I have only watched a little of Stains, and he looks fast and deceptive. His defence , or lack of seems to be in question to some on here. Is this just the whinging willies in this forum, who constently look to bag a player ? Or is it the opinion of people who have seen him play more then 1 or 2 games ? We are probably the slowest nrl side ever, I yearn to see a player that can run 50 mtrs to score a try.

Just remember your backline is only as fast as its slowest player ...we certainly have been Slothville for a long time

Hasn't played a lot at the Storm in the past but expect him to be a regular starter from now on with the departure of a number of Storm forwards.

Staines is fast.
His defence is surely an issue and probably an improvement on our current players!!!

Naden, Nofo, Ken M all have speed. Unsure re Laurie but it could be there.
Speed can be coached too.
Madge seemed to stifle the fast footy out of us. (for good and bad).

Peachey turned out to be a dud, but I could see potential in it working.

Like BJ Leulia, the signing makes sense. But did not work out.
Oliver Gildart makes no sense when Madge wanted to boost our defence.
Or like when we signed a very broken Matt Ballin with several hookers on the books.

It’s clear we have had a bad team and a poor culture historically. Players careers come here to die. Sheens was able to overcome that once. Prayers he still has some magic dust in his old kit bag.

I don't think he said that at all. It's very true that players that have played well with their previous clubs appear to be on holiday when they join the WT. That's on the club to rectify those shifts in attitude from the players.

Incidentally, it appears that those attitudes started with the guy who will resume coaching us next season, and then be handed over to another guy who made comments about playing with your mates being more important than winning games.

He was rotten well before us. He had one good year at the panthers and milked the titans.
And then Madge was desperate for a signature of any kind.

I'm actually excited to see how Staines goes next season, think he has a much higher ceiling than Laurie tbh & won jersey flegg player of the year at fullback. Worst case scenario it doesn't work out he's gone at the end of the year anyway.

I think mr sheens may play Staines as a centre , he will want pace and if nofa and ken are fit , he might just put him there .
