Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Sorry please explain...

If someone said "we can swap Luke Keary for AD". I wouldn't be able to say "done" fast enough.
Keary would be a better NR7 then Brooks and is blocked with Tedesco moving to 5/8. Makes perfect sense and I would take Keary > Moses.

Keary, played trained and worked with Cooper Cronk....

I can only think there must be an injury I don't know about....
It's been rumoured that he will be medically retired due to concussion issues. Hence why the chooks want to move off him. Agree he is an incredible player, but I don't think he has long left in the league

With all these great signings, I’m looking at who would I like to see gone?

Mine are (in this order mind you):

Nofo
Maumalo
Seyfarth
Simpkin
Kepaoa

By my count we only have 28 officially signed in the top 30 unless I’m missing someone? Zero tackle have Will Smith and Josh Feledy as signed but neither have officially been included in too 30 as far as I’m aware.

The current Top 30 is in the Ins and Outs thread here mate^.

29/30 spots filled for 2023.

I agree with all the posters before me. Plenty of depth in the Tigers engine room now. Signing Brown would be a waste of money and have the effect of blocking a young gun we are hoping to bring through. No need whatsoever. The more I think about it, if we were able to snare RTS, it would be brilliant. On the right deal of course........
Depends on price.
We clearly don't need him (Brown). But I wouldn't mind just a little more depth....

I am talking 200/250K or less and that won't happen for these players:
Brown
Marty Taupau
Get Andrew Fifita out of retirement.
... Tempted to suggest Aaron woods but I think he is more media focused.

I know a Young gun may be delayed in making first grade, yet they would benefit from the experience at Training and on the field. Alternatively if we could sign one of the above outside the 30 like we did Will Smith, that would be a boon. Particularly to harden us up at Training.

Yes sounds weird to argue for Depth in the forwards. Yet we saw how Cronulla benefitted so much when they had Gallen + Lewis + Chris H + a stack of forwards.

Which I know we have a decent pack at the moment. Yet were an injury off being weak again.

Mansour we don’t need , so don’t worry .
If the slimmmy eels think they can off load brown and sign taupau for less than browns $600 there raving mad , they may even have to pay us some money to take him , so I can’t see how this all will help them keep Moses .
Nah, they are not thinking that.

What they are thinking is that they have lost Papaii, trade Brown for Taupau and they get more impact for maybe 100-200k.

Thank you Matterson/Moses/Gutho for blowing your clubs cap.

There is method to his madness. Have heard him say that you get the ball back after scoring. They also can’t score while theyre huddled in their own in goal while you’re lining up the conversion.
If that’s our tactic, we are in trouble.
Penrith have proven defence trumps attack in this current form of the game.

Well one things for sure, we will be signing a halfback sometime in the next couple of months. No team goes into the season with only one halfback in the top 30, especially with no halves as development players.
If Brooks does his knee we literally have no one remotely capable of organising a side. As a bare minimum we'll sign a jock madden type youngster with potential.
Our NSW cup squad doesn't even have a halfback remotely capable of stepping up, Kade Hill needs to put on another 10kgs before he'd have a chance. We will sign a halfback, sadly the one I'd have taken, Pezet, just re-signed with Melbourne

If the Tigers were to sign Tedesco, it would be just what the old car dealer wanted and we would be doing him a favour.
Yep exactly, and this is a big part of the reason we should go for RTS, he comes with no former Tigers baggage. Ted would see it as a step backwards and be dirty.
And I would really love to sit back and watch the Ted and Nick divorce play out.

Four major things a side needs;-
1- Grunt ;- Klem, Paps, Pole, Stef, Offa, Blore etc should do the job.
2- Playmakers ;- Brooks, Laurie/AD, Api, better then 22, with Api, but still a worry.
3- Speed;- still up in the air, need Stains, Tupoa,Naden and Kepoa , to fire.
4- Kicking game ; Terrible in 22, ; coaching staff must get the halves spending many hours at training, and the side taught to buffer the kickers.
