IF the forward pack performs and Brooks doesn't then i will stop defending him. Until that happens i refuse to blame a half that has been behind a rubbish pack for poor performance. I actually think most years to date he has far exceeded what a player in his position should have.
 
I think its pretty obvious Brooks has played terrible his entire career. No one with any sense of integrity could deny that. I think the first part of the year he will have a grace period as he hasn't played with the best forward pack through his career. If he fails, stumbles, falters at all, he has well and truly used up all of his lives and must be shown the door. Pretending otherwise you are only fooling yourselves. Im willing to give the guy until round 8 before I call for his head.

Im willing to give him the start of the season, im also understanding of passionate fans that are ropable he has been allowed to continue in the team, for so long. I can see it both ways. But if after the start of the year he hasnt improved, GOOOOONE!!

Well said Greg, on the occasions we have in fact had a dig and got the 2 points, there’s usually a few moments of Brooks brilliant play to point to. He’s no world beater but he shows up and puts his body on the line, more than I’d say about a lot of our pea hearts.

I'd agree that he doesnt kick us out of trouble, but nor is his kicking game bad. I'd say kicking out of troube is way easier said than done. There are very few halves in the comp that actually can, and those few that occassionally manage to typically do so after a strong run where a forward has taken multiple defenders out of the line or made a quick play the ball, thus less kick pressure. Again, i dont see our forwards ever having done that. Brooks kicking stats are actually comparable to most other halves. In fact he has slightly less kick errors per game than the bloke were chasing to take his spot. The out on the full and 7 tackle set chat is a complete myth.
Decision making is debatable. There isn't really any stat specifically to measure that. But, his/the Tigers attacking output compared to other teams and factoring our defence is respectable. He does make his fair share of errors, but again it is at a rate comparable to most halves.

I remember last year brooks set up a dime for Laurie to score the game winning try and he fluffed it.. warriors maybe? everyone blamed brooks for not icing the game earlier

Then there was another one when he kicked the game winning field goal against souffs… it was because of jacko because he was used as a decoy
