2023 ladder predictions

Penrith --- Just too strong
Cowboys -- Todd Payten is a little flukey. He though managed his weakness by importing halves and strengthening the front row.
Sharks -- Craig Fitz will keep coaching them hard.
Storms -- Same stars but entire front row reshuffle.

Parramatta -- Unsure if the team have it in them to go again.
Souths -- Halves are going to slow down.
Canberra With Fifita they will go well.
Roosters -- will slide due to Injuries. Backline is strong but a lot of head knocks.
Dolphins -- Bennett coached side with a strong front row.

Bulldogs -- Why haven't they fired yet?
Wests Tigers -- We could do a lot better then this and come.... Ninth! *

Newcastle -- Nothing new bar Hastings and he has injuries.
Broncos -- nothing changing and more stars are loosing. Key is Adam Reynolds and his fitness.

Dragons -- nothing changing in Anthony G's side.
Warriors -- Still a mess - RTS.
Titans -- Will they keep Fifita, if not bottom of table.
Manly -- Siebold Special + loss of some names.

*rather then challenge our destiny. We should embrace NR9 as the true place of our team on the ladder.

Storm are the big question mark for mine.
Losing so much big game experience in the forwards would sink most clubs but this mob are survivors.
I have a feeling their new backrowers will explode under the Melbourne system. Their depth though is the concerning factor.
Yep they have lost a big chunk of talent and experience hey, and now papen*$#*en off to the states. But bellyache does have the knack of getting people to play above the natural talent.

Why are people rating the Roosters so highly.

2023 Roosters
Gains:
Brandon Smith (Melbourne)
Jaxson Paulo (South Sydney)
Jake Turpin (Brisbane)
Corey Allan (Canterbury)

Losses:
Freddy Lussick, Ronald Volkman (Warriors, during 2022)
Daniel Suluka-Fifita (South Sydney, during 2022)
Lachlan Lam (Leigh, during 2022)
Siosiua Taukeiaho, Adam Keighran (Catalans)
Kevin Naiqama (Huddersfield)
Sam Verrills (Gold Coast)

Wait thats not all:
Lindsay Collins - Concussion.
Luke Keary - Concussion.
Victor Radley -- had concussion through 2022, surely won't repeat for 2023.

Yes the flight deck has recruited well (Jaxton Paulo will embitter Souths even more). The Muscle that Easts is known for is either really old i.e. JWH, Concussed (Collins, etc) or going elsewhere Taukeiaho.

They’re my team to beat this year. They surely can’t cop another shocking year of injuries….been very unlucky, yet still performed highly.

With the squad and coaching staff our club has assembled, in my way of thinking they are a plug and play.................these people are not guys who will take years to perform. As individuals coaches and recruits instinctively want results.

So without getting to far ahead of myself either we finish top 4 or top 6.......or flop completely.

I'm thinking the former.

At best I think we could go as high as 7th. With our forward pack, I can’t see us in the bottom 4 Team.
I think we will be competing with the mid tier teams for a shot at the finals. We are very skinny in the halves, if one of them goes down for part of the season..we are no chance of making the finals.

Calculated guess
I think they will miss api aswell as kikau bringing them back a bit.
It makes it hard on the halves if the hooker isn’t an attacking threat. There halves might be under more pressure this year.
Someone mentioned last year opposition teams targeted Brooks because we weren’t a big threat from DH and Hastings was easier to handle in defence.

Doueihi and Brooks.

I think so as well but maybe Laurie will find a spot there. Brooks to me looks better as a wide running 6 and I have no idea what Doueihi's best position is.

We are pretty weak there.
