Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

No they won’t. They both looked shite. We should beat both.
That crossed my mind, too - everyone's been building up what a great game it was but only because it was close, not because it was actually that good. Put those two teams in Knights and Warriors jerseys and no-one would dispute that it was a good fun but ultimately low quality 11th v 13th matchup. Both teams could no doubt improve but that sure as hell wasn't a grand final preview on that showing.

I agree with your point regarding age but 4-5 years is a long time to get stuck with a relatively over paid, underperforming player. It completely unbalances the cap and the team.

Look at cherry evans at manly. He’s had like 2 great seasons out of 10 on all million a year.
Yes there is no doubt it is a risk, but life is full of risks and having him work with Sheens, Marshall and Farlah has me believing he will really enjoy his footy. That in turn can convert into successful on field performances.

Gallagher have you been in the chorus of Tiger supporters who have hammered Mr & Mrs Brooks Son Luke over the past 12 months? If so then surely you won't object to the Tiggers dipping into some of your membership money to to bring back Moses?
No, I wouldn't say I'm a big basher of Brooks. And the Tigers havnt got any of my money for the last 6 odd years.

Yep they looked ordinary. No wonder Bellamy wants to retire. You’ve got a salary cap compliant team now champ! Deal with it like we have for years.

its the future my mans.

If you're an investor type, check out IHL on the asx. imo pioneering using Psilocybin as a treatment . Already in stage 3 trial and bff's with the FDA. The PSI-GAD trial for general anxiety has the chance to be a real game changer in a huuuuuge market.

They also play in the cannabinoid space with OSA but I think the really money spinner is the magic mushrooms.

Don't want to toot my own horn here but hopefully someone took the suggestion above. Big Announcement from IHL today:

Incannex Engages Catalent for Development and cGMP Manufacture of Psilocybin Drug Product for Clinical Trials and Potential Commercial Use

up 12% in the first hour this morning. Drugs are good kids.

I'm the same Gallagher, I ended my membership. Way I figure is if I was running a business I wouldn't pay the salary of incompetent staff, so why should the Tigers board / management be any different. If they want my money I need to see some form of success.

Storm love a dog fight and win most of them.
Parra are a momentum team who need things to be fast paced.

Storm did an excellent job I thought on slowing the game down and playing to their strengths whilst making Parra go away from their game plan.

Another thing to keep in mind is the Storm lost Brom Bros, Kaufusi, Olam, Papz, Smith (left/injury). For them to even be matching it with the Eels and as the game went on look more likely isn’t a bad start for them. Was a typical Storm performance for mind.

Storm showed how they're still a top 4 side. If we lost half our starting roster we'd lose every week!!

I know a lot of people in here have something against DCE but he’s had a lot more than 2 good seasons, him individually has been one of the best halves in the comp, Manly have less depth than us and regularly have to deal with injuries to their key players, yet they still make finals off the back of his kicking game. He’s probably the most clutch rugby league player there is too, I’ve seen him slot about 5-6 field goals to win and I don’t even watch manly much.

Injuries are part of the game. They look hozz.

Harry Grant might just be the best player in the NRL. Storm with Munster, Hughes & Grant are competitive. Injuries are their biggest issue. I believe 9 of their 30 are unavailable already.

Roosters prop Matthew Lodge has been elevated into the club's top 30 ahead of their historic season opener against the Dolphins on Sunday.

Lodge was on a train and trial deal during the summer but with confirmation of the salary cap figure for 2023 he has re-signed on a one-year contract.

Undoubtedly on "minimum" wage

Terrible decision, he should’ve been banned from NRL long ago.
Shows how weak the NRL are.

Not saying he’s bad. I rate him highly at his best. He simply hasn’t performed as a million dollar player every season. It’s hard to be that consistent.

If manly didn’t wrap so much of their cap over long periods up on a couple of players, then perhaps will have more to spend on depth?
