Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Every one makes it sound like he just goes down injured, the last couple have been high shots which he can’t control, just sign him up he is a gun 🔫
My observation is that a comment was made about his injuries, not what or how they were caused, just the fact that he has had a few. We all know that high shots can’t be controlled, but I guess we don’t necessarily want someone who is injury prone.
I like him and personally think he is a keeper but I want to see him fit and on the field every week .
Let’s hope all this talk about the UK is just talk and he is resigned soon.

I can't wait for this crap to end. I read an article which indicated the Broncos may have made him an offer of close to $1.15m pa over three years. Loyalty to me would be Haas re-signing quickly with the Broncos even though he may have larger offers.

It's bizarre behavior right. That is an excellent contract. Whatever extra he gets over that half will be lost in tax anyway.

Imagine how good Blore could be if he could get a consistent run of games. He is a huge prospect if he can just get past these injuries. Could be our best backrower since Ellis if it all comes together for him. I rate him so highly.

We've seen the impact he can have in the limited minutes he has played this year.

I view him as a middle forward now. He is a great bench option though because he could probably cover an edge role as well.

I wonder if he can't accept interest on his banked earnings with respect to his faith and this is factored into his contract. Not sure how it works.

Extend
Blore , Staines ,James Long term ( 3 years )
seyfarts , x 2 years , he is actually getting better I feel , was not a fan but gee he does try hard , could be a Smokey back up
put a broom through reserve grade
give Reilly next 4 games to see how he goes , I still think he could be ok
Matta , needs to really smoke reserve grade now , dominate

I have strict Muslim relatives. They cannot invest in anything that earns interest. I'm not sure if Hass is that strict.

I can't see how it factors into his earnings though.

I know that long term if you are only earning bank interest your money isn't going to go very far. Inflation kills it.

He is only young and has a great respect for the Tigers for sticking with him through his injuries.
I had the fortune of spending a bit of time with him at the open day at the start of the year and he is a very respectful young man and quite knowledgeable about the game and he could become one of our leaders down the track. I walked away with a new favourite player and would be gutted if he did not get another contract. Staines is also a must as we are slow and he has express pace.

I'm not sure about James. We have heaps of middle forwards. Some of them are going to have to be let go.

Agree , he is a keeper , I love the bloke as he puts in , the last injury head shot , not good but he was going very well prior to that , fist time in a while he was given games constant , he could become an absolute solid Tiger

I had a similar interaction at the Christmas family day. And also came away with a new favourite player, and I would hate to see him move on.

I love how we have 1 spot in the squad next year (if the rumour of signing Sullivan & Sezer are true) and we have people suggesting we extend Seyfarth & James. If we extend anybody and give them the last spot it needs to be Charlie.

I think we should extend Seyfarth but you are right in that we have a bunch of middle forwards and we can't keep them all. Staines or any quality outside back is much more important than a middle forward at this point.

I wonder if we release some players who are contracted to us.

That's why I suggest a train and trial as it doesn't take up a spot but keeps him at the club.
But we'll have more than 1 spot after some of the dead wood gets a tap on the shoulder.

Im happy to have Seyfarth extended if we end up having room. However I doubt he will be short of suitors. Warriors wanted him at the start of the year and were prepared to offer him around 300k a year for 2 / 3 years. He did not want to move to NZ tho.

if Mansfield is actually development and not top 30 next year I could see a 1 year deal happening.

I would be happy with James on a train and trial / cup contract.

I do think we should Release / Swap a few though. If we can get a few off the books I would love to keep Seyfarth.

The ones I think need to go are:
Rua
Reilly
Nof

Ones I don't mind losing / being tradebait:
Kepaoa
Simpkin
Naden
