Great Sponsor, Big name almost as good as Macca's, global branding still has value regardless of our national context.

Hopefully we work out the aesthetics of how it fits within the confines of the jersey and our colour scheme. Hopefully it won't be the Herbal World disaster of 2004. No issue with Herbal world they supported us when not many did.
I'm sure Pascoe would have worked out a favourable deal, so even if our **Jersey** revenue gets effected, the sponsorship money, would easily still give us a healthy profit.

Need to be careful who we tempt with offers of 3rd party deals from this sponsor.

Doesnt KFC automatically become a second party due to their WT sponsorship?

Looking forward to Pascoe in a chicken suit & Lee channeling Colonel Sanders

I heard some goss about this sponsorship.

To put it in comparison, Port Adelaide are paid over 1mil for their back of jersey:

KFC had a budget of about half this for an NRL jersey. Allegedly they almost had another Sydney club but then WT underbidded this again by around 50% and totally undersold their asset. "Clueless" is what I was told.
Not good.

On the plus side, there will be a KFC box at WT games

Not a good outcome if factual. But then, we'll probably never know.

Not the best outcome, but that 50% of something is a bit better than 100% of nothing.

If your house was work 500k and someone was willing to pay at or near that, but you instead said "I'll sell it for 200 and that's my final offer", would that be the best outcome for you?

But we weren’t being offered $500k for our house, one of our neighbours was and their house is already renovated with established gardens.

We probably got paid what our house is worth in the current market.

It doesn't surprise me we totally undersold ourselves however now we have established a partnership if we can achieve better success on the field our commercial team will be able to command a lot more in the next deal.

AFL clubs are not allowed to have front of jersey sponsors so I would think sponsorship space on the back of jerseys would command more $$$ because of this.
And with our lack of success the last decade I don't think we would've had too many companies banging on our door to throw megabucks at us.
Any deal is a good deal at the moment, hopefully we have a bit of success soon and someone wants to overpay to take over the prime spot on our jerseys to finally be rid of the eyesore that is that billboard-sized Brydon's abomination.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that @kul in his first paragraph above wrote that he heard some goss. At this stage, that's just what it is - nothing more. Can we not bag the club and decisions made based on goss? Or do we thrive on continually hanging crap on the club?

Supporters of this club are conditioned now to be cynical and think worse case scenario. And that is understandable.
The KFC sponsorship is good regardless of whatever $$$ is changing hands.

Rumours feed people on this forum. Someone mentions it and it is automatically fact.

Lets say KFC were prepared to spend $500k on an NRL club and we got them at 250k because we underbid, that could be a master-stroke if we weren't getting the 500k in the first place!

Think outside the square people. 250k might be cheap for KFC, but if OUR best sponsorship offer from somewhere else was only 150k, we are actually 100k infront!

It is clear some people on here have no logical thinking about anything the club does. It's just 'Pascoe is a dope' and 'Madge is a knob'. It's the go to phrase for some.

I don't know if the KFC deal is good or bad, any more than anyone else in this forum does. But I don't conclude my thinking until I know facts, and by facts I mean generally the opposite to what is sprayed by Hooper, Rothfield and other imbo's.

KFC (and forget about the merits of the quality of food etc) are a biggie as far as product and marketing.
So any sponsorship will be good for us.
