You look at Melbourne, and apart from Hughes and Papenhuyzen there aint no superstars or marquee rep players. Honest toilers in most cases, apart from NAS off the bench who has X-factor. Bellamy is a genius to have a list like that 2 wins clear at the top of the table. Everyone blows smoke up Robbo's backside, but you go through his roster and the Roosters should be winning comps 2 in every three years and finalists in the off year!
I hate the Storm because they cheated their way to multiple premierships and are favoured because the game needs a presence in Melbourne, but their coach is one of the all time greats at building a culture.

We can expect Olam in for Laulilii based on training today. Olam wasn't moving that sweetly but possibly just easing him back.

Interesting to see the boys being penalised by the ref even in training, Laulilii being pushed back 10m on kick returns and dropping bombs. We really do train how we play. Much more line speed in defence in drills.

Farah hasn't said a word at training. Just walks around, doesn't look like a church at all. Benji chimes in occasionally but it's mainly unknowns in blue shirts running things. The number of penalties we're giving away is alarming, especially as there's little to no linespeeed in the opposed session.
The effort play today was you getting out to training and giving us all the low down.
Two thumbs up. 👍🏻 👍🏻

Yes years ago the Storm cheated on the cap ,got caught ,stripped etc
But thinking of the last 6 years they are now one of the clubs I believe are compliant
They have an amazing ability to find " unknowns " with x factor and turn them into stars .
Their coach and support staff and scouts set a high standard and I admire that
What I don't admire is the Roosters system who simply recruit existing superstars and theres not much science in that ! Just an flexible checkbook and very attractive TPA's

I also respect the storm. They took their medicine which led to the greatest photo of all time with a fella at Leichhardt wearing a hat with celery and wooden spoons taped to it. They get hammered for wrestling, and while hate a lot of that I respect the fact that coaches have to find ways of winning.

Unlike other known cheats like the roosters and even the peptide sharks who should have been stripped of their premiership but that story went away very quickly once they started crying publicly.

I also can't respect Penrith because poaching a coach like that remains a unique low in my opinion.

Storm take players from clubs like us and transform them, even players we don't see much value in. Roosters take them when they are clearly heading for stardom.

I very much disagree with this. Sure the Roosters recruit their share of superstars such as Tedesco and Crichton and previously Cronk. But how 'known' were:
Tupou, Manu, Toupouniua, Walker, Butcher, Radley, Hargraves, Collins, May when they were recruited?

2 and a bit years ago the "cheese " Brandon Smith was probably regarded as the hottest property going around . Understand he's fallen back a bit after arriving at the Roosters but when they recruited he was at the top of the tree
1year ago the hottest winger was probably Dom Young
Didn't take much insight to recruit those two .
Storm find guys like Warbrick and Reimis Smith and develop guys like Blore
The little guy Faalaago ain't bad either
You think the Roosters find all this hidden Talent I don't !
