Speed and errors beat us. When we were in position to score we were able to convert. Reasonable result based on where the two clubs are placed. Our weaknesses their strength.

Brushed passed his leg in an attempt to charge down the kick. Was pretty harmless. Ridiculous that he gets suspended for that, but probably will.

I thought we were okay. Clearly we’re not at Melbourne’s level. We can’t afford to keep playing with 12 players for periods every week. I know it got a bit junk time at the end but technically speaking the 12 points we conceded with 12 players was the final margin.

Young guys + Api are good, overpriced older guys, not so good.

Luai is a massive game changer next year, make no mistake. He will make some of our outside backs look better. I feel as though we’re a good centre short at least though.

I counted four or five clear tries bombed by our three quarter line.

Add to that they are piss poor out of the back field.

Senior players are making too many errors but Jesus we need some good backs.

well.. Pole is signed next year … I have no idea what he is on … but I’m assuming a pittance ..

Luai and Turuva will make a lot of difference in effort and ability but we still need to make some changes to our pack. We can not afford to keep playing guys like Klemmer, Matamua, Bateman, Porter as part of our 17. We need some tough hard running aggressive no nonsense forwards including another tackle breaking edge player.

Has Galvin been overhyped?
His short kicking game isn't great few 7 tackle sets given away at crucial times as well as one off a long kick. He's not quick gets burnt a fair bit in D and can't capitalize on LB's due to his speed.
Of course his effort is there and he is young in the worst team in the comp by a distance, but is that the only reason he looks good at times because we are so bad in general.
If we can get Latu fit i'd like to get him some game time as a comparison.

We’re all waiting to see what Latu can do, and that’s no disrespect to Galvin.

I've said it all along, Galvin is super fit with an amazing competitive nature. That's what makes him great, not pure talent.

I like him a lot, and think we need him. Just not sure he has that natural touch of class a long term 6 has.

I think we were penalised or 6 again numerous times for what Melb did virtually every tackle

That's how the absorb pressure and then com home strong.

I don't think the problem is identifying. It's getting them to play well that's our issue.

NO , they pick guys with heart and football brains as well as talent that can play to a style or game plan . We just have dumb merkins !

Faatape cannot play wing until he learns how to defend. We should have started Alaimalo, or even Naden. I like faatape but as a centre.
