I think Twal gets an awful wrap at times.

His defence is economical. He doesn't make a lot of mistakes. He's not a bad penalty machine.

There are game structures that would suit him. I dare say he'd work really well in a team like the Storm.

He's as fit as any player in the team.

I think he was a much better player when he was around that 98-100kg range. He has decent speed. And his run after contact metres are really good.

Richo made a very interesting comment about adding guys through both grades to get experience into the squad.

Tevaga is the perfect fix-it type. If you'd take Karl Lawnton, you'd take Jazz Tevega.

he’s played in every game the Warriors have played in those 12 weeks. he was once a penalty and error machine, yes, but has really cleaned it up in recent years. to me he’s a good fit for the bench.

there’s not really anything to get excited about on the market. he’s an attainable, proven first grader, who is willing to fight for every inch. we don’t have the ability to pass up on those players right now.

Brian To’o was a notable absentee at Penrith training on Wednesday, as the club prepares to meet with the superstar winger over revelations he is restless at the three-time premiers

To’o’s absence at training, just 24 hours after uncertainty about his future emerged, added a layer of intrigue to the contract saga unfolding at the foot of the mountains.

To’o reported for training on Wednesday morning but was sent home and given the day off to recover from illness.

Cameron and Panthers bosses were locked in a scheduled board meeting on Wednesday morning on matters unrelated to the To’o contract situation.

Tigers coach Benji Marshall has admitted he would be interested in having Brian To’o at the Wests Tigers if he became available.

Marshall was asked about the prospect of having the Blues and Penrith winger at the Tigers on Wednesday at Leichhardt oval ahead of the clash with North Queensland on Thursday.

“Who wouldn’t be? Yeah, I guess. Brian is one of the best wingers in the game, if not the best winger, but he’s contracted to Penrith,” Marshall said.

I have always thought about Twal … he is a decent club man … but I don’t see him as a regular 17 type … I think he has gone a bit backwards this year even from that level …

I think they have signed him too long …

Yep good squad player. Would bring energy & effort to the lock position off the bench and perfect to cover for Api also (so TDS can continue to build full match reps in NSW Cup). Also noting we only have 2 hookers so far in the top 30 next season (very risky).

A Melbourne type of player. I have to admit. Bellamy or Bennett cannot see the elephant in the room.

I can agree with that. The club NEEDS good clubmen you can rely on. Twal won't set any records. But if Klemmer goes down, Twal can step in. If anyone goes down- Twal can step in.

Got someone in poor form? Twal can step in. He's Mark Nicholls.

something in the wind with To’o … could be massive … if Penrith lets him go … where else would he go?

little whisper doing the rounds that Jared Haywood has signed a development deal, but yes, we need three NRL-experienced hookers in the 30. also means Latu can focus on playing in the halves, which is where he should be.

I think they are similar players.

People will hate this, but I think Klemmer isn't that bad. The perception is he is slow etc. But he's also a good middle defender, does his hit ups, even when his prop partner goes missing, sticks up for his team mates & doesn't get outmuscled.

He's not the guy he used to be. But he has value, and I think he puts in way more than given credit for.
