Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I expected the stout rebuke, but in the broad, given his season before his arrival he’s been nothing short of an abomination.

If he had any chops he’d be sending us a bank cheque inscribed with a meaningful refund of some sort.

Bait and switch, watch him come to his senses next year and beyond.

He’s not the only one, I’ll grant you that indulgence.
Now you are starting to see whose fault that is.

Top sides have shown that mobility in the pack is better in today's game than size. You need a balance for sure but I'll say for certain we can't entertain having guys like Knight, Hazelton, Saifiti even NAS if they are partnering Klemmer in the front row. The best 8, 10, 13 combo we have had this year is Pole + Sione F + Stef.
I agree we need to bolster the pack, but not with another big lump to replace stef, we have plently of those.
We need a dynamic athlete who can give you 40 high octane minutes over two stints.
The Spencer Leniu mould would be ideal. We need a greased up pig not a giant Clydesdale.

Harden up, he’s been an utter shonk, then he’s broken ranks and like Stef we continue to roll out the red carpet.

Benjis appeasement policy.

Sends a bad message to the kids. They need to learn to respect the jersey, it has to mean something.

Benji, take the spoon like a man per the rest of us buddy.

Play the kids.

Benjis idea of an honest discussion with senior players this year has been asking them if the ice bath is too warm for them.

At least you have your cows for the finals, although I’d rather swallow draino than wish that cheating mongrel Feldt a good game.

Seriously
- you blokes are just making shit up….
He’s played his best football there, played in a GF there - all under BA…

Have you blokes actually watched him after he left here as a 21 yr old?
Wtf are you talking about ?
That’s literally the same thing as what we are saying ….
You might want to re-read…
MM+eels= franchise player
MM + shit eels = roosters player ….. and that’s pretty shit on a whole bunch of levels . Despite how much I want to say to every parra fan … “hahahahaha”

on Hassett, this screams WT buying the dip.

former Aus Schoolboys captain and NSW U19s rep who was wanted by a stack of clubs only two years ago. hasn’t exactly set the world alight in NSW Cup but has decent numbers on both sides of the ball and would benefit from a change of scenery and a clear path to first grade.

obviously we need quality and depth on the edges, but these are the kinds if opportunistic buys I hope and expect of us these next few years as we try to rebuild the roster.
Thing is he's on a top 30 deal now so won't come to us for less, but we don't have room for him in the 30 without huge cuts to the squad

I like the recruitment of Hassett from the Panthers if true. I read that Bennett was very keen to recruit him and the Dolphins believed they had him until the Panthers upped their offer at the 11th hour.

I was initially a big fan of the possibility of signing Tallis Duncan as he nearly always hits top speed quickly when running the bal, shows ability to play as a first receiver style 13 and his defensive stats always look very good.
But when watching him closely his defence is predominantly arm grabbing, very minimal hard shoulder impact and he is a very lazy defender often not making any effort to get back in the defensive line or work from marker which was evident when Talyn Da Silva went straight past him a few times recently.
I would now steer clear of him as he has too many areas of his game that need a lot of improvement, we have plenty of our own in that scenario, our new recruits need to be more complete players.

Duncan came on last night and worked his ass off around the ruck. One set he made the first 4 tackles and dominated the Storm. The next play he wasnt involved in and the storm almost went through. I saw the opposite to what you saw. I went to bed at half time, so cant comment past his initial stint, but I'm happy to say Duncan is a gun and I'd love to have him.

The OP was talking about mongrel. In a capable side he has shown plenty of that. I haven’t given up on him.
It's time you did. He hasn't been good since 2020. It's a crude measure but look at his try scoring rate:
Bradford, 2011-12: a try every 3.9 games
Wigan, 2014-18: 3.9
Canberra, 2019-20: 4.3
Wigan, 2021-22: 8.4
Tigers, 2023-24: 16
He was past it when he got back to England, let alone when we signed him. Have a look at this: https://www.wiganwarriorsfans.com/viewtopic.php?t=42606&hilit=bateman Wigan fans not at all bothered to lose him before the start of last season, consensus view was that he'd been average at best.

I have. I reckon he’s one of those guys who wants to look tough but would get dropped like that. Would love to see it happen to his bogan head. He looks like a junkie. Pathetic.

That's how I see him too. Usually those that present toughness by standing too close to the play the ball at marker, niggle at every opportunity, give penalties away deliberately, get in scuffles knowing no punches will be thrown are the ones who can't fight. It's a pretend toughness he presents and I think it's obvious. The real tough players do it throw physicality, not niggle.

You should never send Sheens to the grocery store to buy fresh fruit because he would come back with a bag full of old expensive lemons every time. Many of us believed he would destroy our salary cap and leave us in the lurch and that is exactly what he did AGAIN
