Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Well, that's our cup team sorted.

We had a crack at Tex Hoy in the past and fell short... he could be our Nick Meany, I guess. 1 to 7 back up.

John Asiata is somewhat rated and is a lock which is an area we need to strengthen.

Kaide Ellis is a mid tier prop, not the worst.
No idea if any of its true though Demps but just thought I'd share.

Risky post. I understand if mods choose to ban it.

Terrograph reports…

NRL, Roosters legend offloading $3m family home

Three-time NRL premiership winner and ex-Roosters skipper Jake Friend is selling his stunning $3m family home.

Friend, 34, has undertaken a complete renovation of the inner west home since buying it for $1.6m in June 2019.

“Jake gutted the home and re-did everything, there is a second story addition now and an extension out the back. It’s exceedingly well finished throughout.

Anyone from ATO or NRL auditors simply needs to run back through all the Rooster renovations to figure out the game. Hargreaves has four or so, with a recent street record.

I acknowledge how much work it will be to sort through it all, but considering Uncle organises (pays /subsidies?) the tradies there will be records. I don’t know this next part, it’s just an educated guess, It would be super interesting to cross reference all the buyers, including how long they hold for.

There would be so many reasons the NRL and others don’t want transparency with the cap and its correlation to 3rd party deals.
If a star player goes to a club lower on the ladder for less money, it is treated like Pandora’s box. If we get on a roll in Vegas, there’s no ceiling 😜

There is little chance the NRL will look into situations like this, as always it will take a whistleblower to bring evidence forward which the NRL can't ignore.

Who is he going to sign there?
Especially if they’re train and trial contracts . Just because we sign players doesn’t mean they’re all top 30 / dec players .
I wouldn’t be offering any of those 3 top 30 contracts .
And Richo was especially explicit about the fact we will be signing quality to bolster our reserve grade .
And considering the huge amount of players we used this season , if you’re a player looking for a back door back into the nrl , reserve grade for the tigers would be offering a higher chance of actually fulfilling that . I mean look at Rueben Porter this year .
