Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

From what I have seen of him on the T.V. sports news in the Group 3 area he was a very exciting player and being so young he should have had plenty of potential for growth.
I'm really 🙁 he's gone to Manly, but their talent scouts obviously saw something in him that we apparently didn't need.
Its not about needing its about prioritising. We need to keep Makasini and Large and to do that we need a clear pathway through the grades. We have had some top talent come through the last couple of years and we had to make a choice on who we cut loose from a great crop of kids.

This is the question.

Suppose a deal is on the table to make a swap, but the club stands firm to keep Galvin and lose To'o, but we lose both. Are we going to lose Galvin anyway? It kind of looks that way to me.
I'm having JAC, Tommy Talau flash backs. I'm not sure we ever make the right decisions in these scenarios.

The strength of the KOE squad will help strengthen the 1st grade side. Now, if injury or form issues hit- there is an influx of depth players available so that Jonny Schoolboy isn't plucked out of the U14's to play 'because he's a natural talent'.

Players stepping into 1st grade need to earn that right. Greater squad depth should equate to greater competition to get those top squad spots- generating better effort, consistancy & competitiveness among the fringe players.
And not only skills development, but also mindset- winning, not just competing, desire to do the extra bit.

He's 10cm shorter and currently still about 10-15kgs lighter. He'll fill out but i think people underestimate how much smaller he is than other 'small' backs like turuva and To'o. Once developed he'll be Matt Utai's size. He'll need to Work on his aerial ability big time if he's to make it. It's possible, but the odds are strong stacked to against him seeing he's not overly fast or powerful.
Laulilii is strong a powerful and to say he isn’t is nuts

He has built his game on the wing off of that and as he grows into first grade and fills out abit he will be an elite winger

The odds are not stacked against him mate he is an 18 year old currently looking good in first grade

He was as good a lock as I have seen. Quick, big and tough. Well deserved.
Agreed. He followed on soon after John Raper and was his equal in my opinion. Very quick for a lock and played it hard but very fair. Great cover defender and great team man. Was a shame he left Souths to play for Easts. He was Souths through and through but they couldn't compete with Easts' money.

Everyone thinks because Penrith win with undersized Wingers,
they're the flavour of the month.... IT'S NUTS!!
To'o gets cheap meters... Lots of them, But the tough ones are well topped up with the Cheap ones because of Panthers attack in Defence.
Lot of meters to make when the attacking kick is made inside the oppositions 30-40m

Outside the couple little blokes they have, There's a sprinkling of small Wingers in first grade
- and no one mentions them.... There's a reason for it.

Easy to blame Turuva signing elsewhere for getting dropped, Have you watched him play lately?
He's been dropped on form.

I'm hopeful Tito works here, I'm a fan, and we paid a lot for him....
But to think him (Or To'o) Will be as effective at the Tigers as they are at the Panthers is hopeful at best.

Turuva ain’t being dropped for form

He came off one of his best games of the year against the eels then missed the storm game

My best guess as to why is that Ivan is testing things for next year

And if you watched the storm game Laurie was absolute shit

Looks like he needs a knee op

Mate of mine who works at Penrith HQ saying Brian To’o is far from a certainty in 2025 for the Panthers! 🔥 Couple of clubs have put feelers out but we are in the box seat because of Luai! Look out for 2025 👀
Richo would have to be at his Utmost Best to get To'o at an affordable price.
I think the money he would want should be spent on some muscle up front.
Our wingers don't see a lot of ball now and would see even less behind a dominated pack.

Geez you have some hilariously bad takes aye.

Those physical measures would've been done at the start of the year when he was 17.

Every month that goes by he grows a bit bigger, taller and stronger.

'Once developed he'll be Matt Utai's size'. Oh yeh? Well he's already 7cm taller than Utai....

You're obsessed with physical stature. It is such a simplistic and basic way to view a talent's prospects.

Luke Laulili'i is an excellent outside back prospect.

Wests Tigers reportedly interested in Jack Bird. I don’t know about you but I think a 30 yr old with arthritis isn’t probably the way to go next year with Mr Knee Olam here as well. Bloke is definitely the definition of steer clear as he is quite prone to injury and late in his career. If it’s a 1 year deal eh sure, 2 or more than I’d be quite concerned.
