Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Watching Bird yesterday, when he stepped and ran he looked as though he was jogging up and down on the spot. I posted previously Marshall may have met him out of respect because he did contact him personally.
Imo they should talk to lots that are available. It’s all about building a relationship with players even if you don’t need or want them.
Later down the track things might change
Phil Gould has been doing this for a long time and that is another reason he’s respected by players

Plus we have to make roster spots available or NRL won’t approve
I’d say we will have to contribute around 200 to offload each of Bateman and Sullivan, but that still gives us an extra 700 to spend and I’d say the good form from Naden means a Super League team would be happy to pick up his full 300k contract, so moving on those 3 alone gives us an extra million to spend.

If, as reported, bird approached benji wanting to be part of this, that's a big plus too.
Bird just wants to be apart of any football team that are going to keep him in the pay bracket he and Mrs Bird are used to. I can imagine the convo now. “Mrs, Flanno is not keeping me on, I don’t know who is gunna sign me, I’m old, busted and arthritic. And she goes I’ve seen on the tv how those Tigers are idiots, why don’t you give Benji a call and tell him you wanna help him with their revival. That’s not a bad idea Mrs, I think I will, and Richo is in hospital, so I better go visit him too. “
I can’t believe we are entertaining this guy, Big Bird would be a better signing, at least he has the size we need to replace the mighty boy.

Regarding Galvin it’s not so much this he’s definitely leaving us end of contact but more so that he doesn’t want to be brooks 2.0…if we make the 8 next year strong chance he will stay on but he’s only young and doesn’t want to be 29 when he plays his first finals game…understandable if you ask me, we must improve as a club if we are to recruit/retain gun players

Mrs Bird is a very, very good sort just quietly.

Our side will be stronger next year. Hopefully a couple of decent forwards are incoming and I still think we might jag To'o. Need to move 5 of the top 30 on which is going to prove a challenge. However, with some strategic recruitment and an eye on who we can acquire again for 2026, the next 2-3 years look promising. After 12 years of suffering, I think we are entering an era of success (with or without Galvin).

Would he come back to us? A former Balmain junior and played Flegg for us back in 2020
I'm starting the 'give Ronald Philitoga a T&T contract' bandwagon. The Jeral Skelton of Qld Cup!

Another 200m & 86m PCM for Easts Tigers yesterday earning MOM honours. Missed last season with an ACL.

Richo will have his finger on the pulse with his links to the Easts Tigers, could he be the next Faataape, Hope?

As @balmain boy mentioned is a Balmain junior & Shannon Gallant has a charter to bring promising WT pathways players who left back to the club (i.e. Tom Fisher, Jaxson Rahme).

I have confidence Richardson will not allow WTs to go down the path of desperation buys as we have done in the past. What I mean is signing players towards the end of their careers looking for WTs' superannuation; a few have been mentioned in this thread. There are also players on inflated contracts which clubs are wanting to move on. With AFB joining the Sharks, they have a number of props who play significant portions of the game. I doubt whether they will need all of them.
