Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Report via 4BC that Madge happy for Hetherington & Paix to stay. Clean slate. So I'd imagine it'll come down to us guaranteeing Kobe the lock position to start the season, more $$$ & more years.
if Hetherington wants to play 80 minutes week to week like his manager has come out and says he wants to, then the change in coach means nothing. I’m still pretty confident he’ll be at Concord in November.

I don't think Large has demanded a first grade spot and I very much doubt Manly would as he isn't going to overtake DCE, Brooks or Tom any time soon and the CEO comments were about securing the spine of the future.
The clause request is very much a reasonable one in my opinion. Why would he want to commit long term if Galvin also does? Also, Why would we want him long term if Galvin does choose to stay? He seemed willing to stay but self aware enough to know he was likely 2nd fiddle, without adding the likes of Fainu and Sullivan to the conversation.
I'm all for standing up to unreasonable demands. I'm not convinced this was one.
You may be proven right at some point.

I think it was too hard at the Tigers for Jonneh
Had to run back home

Bit of a moody kent eh. We need to shake the branches
and get something to fall out soon, somebody who
can start & doesn't mind getting into the crocodile
roll. NAS would be good. Hetherington & NAS would
round us out nicely. The thing I find curious is how
tight lipped things have been, and the fact that we
haven't released a list of players leaving — couple
that with us having the latest end of year awards
night in the comp, there are definitely things cooking!

If we can't get Hetherington into a crocodile roll for lock, then options may be Jack Williams, Ethan Bullemor, Adam Elliott, Morgan Knowles (St Helens o/c 2025), Kaide Ellis (Wigan o/c 2026) & Liam Knight.

Poor NAS
Should be allowed to play in the grand final

He'd cop a 12 game suspension for something like that if he was in a Tigers jersey.

We definitely need a quality prop to partner with Klem or Twal, as our starters.

I like the suggestion someone made, Brandon Hamlin Uele. He plays hard.

I can’t believe people actually think any team in the NRL are going to pick up Nadens or Batemans contracts 😂 I’ll guarantee this, if they aren’t playing in England at least 50% of their contracts will be covered by Tigers

Naden only has one year to go [2025]
So he can play cup and move on.
It's just disappointing it's taking up a top 30 spot.

Bateman, sadly has 2025 and 2026 on contract. Big money.

Even with making changes and adding Kobe;

8. Fonua Pole
9. Apisai Koroisau (C)
10. David Klemmer
11. Jack Bird
12. Samuela Fainu
13. Kobe Hetherington

14. Latu Fainu
15. Alex Twal
16. Royce Hunt
17. Alex Seyfarth

This still doesn't seem very well rounded.

How do Klemmer, Twal and Seyfarth both make anyones 17?
They're basically all the same non effect player
I'd keep Seyfarth, As he has a decent game in him now and again and maybe some upside development wise.

Klemmer and Twal are both easy beats
- And have long ago hit any ceiling they may have once had.

Just working with the cattle we've got.

Sure Sione Fainu could make his way into the 17... if / when he is signed.

Oregon kaufusi would be perfect. Kaufisi in for Pole and Pole to the bench for Seyfarth. Hunt and Pole off the bench gives plenty of punch.

Just listening to Shawn Blore speak about Craig Bellamy and how tough the preseason was for those guys! Blore almost fainted a couple of times due to the intensity. It’s no secret why the Storm are so successful. It’s no fluke Bellamy has made 11 Grand Finals in 20 years which is ridiculous. They demand hard work and character.

Then I listen to Galvin on the footy show yesterday, speak about how Benji is all about creating a loving, fun environment. That’s our biggest flaw. We don’t flog our players enough to see what they’re really made of. Until that changes nothing changes at this club.
Not that straightforward, is it?

Madge flogged the players, remember Jesse Sue half-collapsing, didn't result in ongoing success. Does Cleary flog his players? Robinson? Bennett?

Also cannot ignore the case of poor young Keith Titmus at Manly. Imagine if Shawn Blore has a medical incident because of that intensity.

I think people make real mistakes pointing to Craig Bellamy, arguably the greatest coach of all time, and suggesting that it's just a matter of replicating some of what Bellamy does, as if that was a simple thing.

I'm looking to the future here with the inclusion of Johannssen and Miller. I have Bird playing off the bench as our the utility (back/forward) player. I honestly dont believe Bateman is coming back. Unfortunately Twally falls out of my side. Do we have a goal kicker, or are we relying on Api .. ??

Doesnt matter which way we mix it up .. unless players like Miller, Johannssen, Porter and Sione Fainu really step it up next season .. or unless we have someone else coming in to tighten up the forward rotation .. we look rather ordinary. I really do think we have another signing or 2 coming .. ;-)

1. Jehream Bula
2. Jeral Skelton (will be interesting see if he starts in the 1st grade or not)
3. Justin Olam
4. Solomona Faataape (i think he's done enuff for a 1st grade spot)
5. Sunia Turuva
6. Lachlan Galvin
7. Jerome Luai

8. Fonua Pole

14. Jack Bird
15. Tim Johannssen

Sione Fainu, Rueben Porter, Adam Doueihi, Charlie Staines, Luke Laulili, Kit Laulili, Tallyn De Silva, Latu Fainu, Solomon Alaimalo, Heath Mason, Chris Faaguta, Alex Twal, Brent Naden, (??) Starford To'a (??)
