Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If we are going to win, we’ll need to lift. We lose the physical battle most weeks.

You shouldn’t have your best forward being a 22yo, but here we are.
Where did Penrith get their pack from? Or the Storm? They didn't buy big names, they made them. Both had unwanted ex WT players in them. Which forwards did the sharks buy, or Broncos? Cowboys wasted money on Luciano, otherwise, who did they buy?

Penrith just signed Papalii
Storm just signed Stef
Cronulla won a comp after signing Lewis and Graham
Brisbane bought Capewell

You need to fill your holes with good recruitment and obviously retention is also key. Our pack has holes and the kids aren’t ready.

Someone else said it best the other day, the playing group needs to decide if they’re going to be something. Or same old Tigers.

Benji and his staff play a role, but standards are driven by a playing group.
Luia n Api will drive the standards next year ,no doubt ,Benjie can just place his feet on the desk n crunch stats

yep,Klemmer n Bateman aren't the old heads we need anymore. Still some hope Richo brought back a fire starter n a tuff nut, while dumping the rubbish on his UK visit
Klemmer looks to be playing too lean, I’d like to see him add some bulk to that frame and lessen his minutes.

Bateman, doubt he’ll return, if he does I’d back him to play better in a team having more success. I’m not writing him off.

I suppose the difference is Large expects to play in the halves and with DCE and Brooks there the only way he gets a chance is if either are injured or at SOO time. Makasini on the other hand wants to play in the centres - a position we are very light on.
And he is a very destructive runner .. so centres is perfect for him in the NRL .. !! He has the same body shape of Israel Falou.

Skelton is not a centre - never played centre never will play centre !! Do you even watch rugby league 😩
Turuva played fullback for the Premiership winner Penrith junior side (U21s?) .. but i believe he wants to play in the centres for us .. ?? Skelton will be lucky to even hold down a wing spot with us .. for his body size he is a tad reluctant to take on the defence line .. (a little tackle shy). He'll probably start the season on the wing .. but i bet he's in and out of the starting 18 throughout the year.

After reading about how Skelton was going to be the perfect signing because he's big, fast and aggressive- now it's the offseason & he's a timid Tarzan.

His numbers don't suggest a player that is afraid of contact. Watching him, I've not seen any aversion to contact. But maybe I've just not seen it where others have.

But again, his numbers suggest a guy that loves contact. There's a whole lot of PCM in his KOE season.
