Bancroft got a pair. First innings 1 ball, second was about 3 balls.
Hopefully Konstas can back it up against the Vics and really get some talk happening amongst the selectors. I still don’t think they’d have the nuts for it and its a tuff ask for a young bloke to debut, open, first test, and against India.
Looks like all the other candidates made runs or took wickets of some kind.

My reaction when rookie Konstas gets 152 in 1st innings was lets wait and see but when he backs that up with another ton in 2nd innings I think maybe a star is born
IMO Bancroft is a NO . With regard to Marcus Harris he's had ample opportunity to nail down a test spot but never did as he's too inconsistent .
Rest of batting Labuschagne,Smith , Head ,Marsh are a lock
In form Carey is incumbent wickie .Pity for Inglis also in great form
Our heavily rested big 3 quicks get picked ( would like them to get match fit )
Great news Lyon gets 8 wickets in his first Sheild match .
Other guys knocking on the door are Webster and Neser .

Fair assessment. I think you’re a bit harsh on Bancroft, I reckon his last few years have been good, he has been at the top, but I’d be happy for a young gun to come in a really take that spot at the top of order and Smudge back to 4.
We should have had old mate with all the head knocks in there by now but he kept using his head to hit the ball? The other bolter could be McGurk?

Neser belted 56/36 and then took the first wicket.
Bancroft only 33 today, he needs a score to get his season going.

He’s getting closer to a debut with every day that passes since I said they wouldn’t have the nuts for it.
I’ll be at the first day of the Sydney test, I’d love to see him four games deep and slaying‘em.

Seems the Australia A vs India A game is a bat off to see who gets the opening slot with Uzzie come Nov 22nd.
Bancroft Harris and Konstas are all In the Squad. Only 2 can open ?
If Konstas does half decent he gets my nod . The other 2 have had a go without setting the world on fire at test level
Just like new blood if possible .
Note the white ball squad for the Pakistan series starting Nov 4tn has no Mitch Marsh or Travis Head as both on paternity leave ( thought that was something that mothers got ? I'm a bit old fashioned LOL)
Guess we will open with Matt Short and Jake Frazer Mc Guirk

Yep Smudge has made it very clear he wants back at 4 !
Also hope he finds form as he's been a bit scratchy in the last year

Yeah I’d love for him to have a couple of big last years, get his average back up and after belting the poms next summer he can retire as The Run-Smith we all know him to be.

Yep would be great to finish up with two great home series against India and the Poms, but I think he has lost that edge that made him so good. Father Time catches up with everyone , and while I think Smudge can compete at a high level, Iam not sure if he can dominate as in the past. Of course he could become a specialist fielder as those skills are still world class!

Bancroft has surely earned a crack. Knicking off to Neser in the first game of the year doesn't undo his last 2 years of really solid work.

Could understand Konstas if we were playing Pakistan or Sri Lanka, but some experience is needed against a great Indian bowling attack.

I agree re Bancroft, I still wanna see him get a score soon, but he is my next opener picked due to his consistent top sheld form over the last few years.

Yep i'd back him in to make a few in the A games. Harris has plenty of opportunity and Renshaw just hasn't been able to put it together consistently.
 
Bancroft got a pair of ducks not just one, then plum LBW to Labuschagne's medium pace dribblers in the Marsh Cup fixture a few days later.

No idea why he's even getting an 'A' selection; he's never been up to it at test level (never mind the sandpaper).

Well earned... 🙄
