Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

by god I hope we’re front of the queue.

Strategic move by the Roosters.

Have other clubs caught up negotiating with a marquee player that they might not end up releasing and the Roosters focus on the players about to be off contract.

Timing just before November 1 is perfect.

The biggest thing going for us is the low amount of players we have signed for 2026.

Smart accounting can get most of deals done.

Sione, Hethrington & May really completes our pack.

So we have 31 pending Tumeth.

So we need 4 players gone.

Sione will be the cheapest deal.

The other 2 around $500k mark. Easily can offer $1.5 over 3 years. Bigger pay days in 2026 & 2027.

I still think a cheap player like lodge would work for us , $300,000 for two years gets him . But I can’t find a lock , this is something that is a MUST , maybe one of the players that that dogs might be shedding
I agree, I reckon he can do a job for us without breaking the bank.

I still wouldn't mind Kobe Hetherington at lock and Bird off the bench to replace him or back-up utility.

Terrel May for ~$500k would be fire. And if his brother is found not guilty in May next year and acquitted of all charges then we may have another set of brothers in the squad (for what it's worth, if he's found guilty then i wouldn't want him anywhere near the club).

I reckon if we do the wrong thing and break them up it will cause massive unrest with the other 2 brothers.
It’s going tj be an extremely tough job working out how to best fit both Latu and Lachie Galvin in our starting line up, building a competitive team around them and keeping them both happy.
I think if Latu is in the 17 each week he'll be happy. He's the outstanding candidate for 14. He'd be to us what Wishart and Watson etc have been to Melb and Easts

He was a fantastic signing for them, and us missing out on him is a contributing factor for us winning 3 spoons in a row.
We have had no leaders at the club. We didn't sign him because he wanted 4 years and we stopped at 3. Sharks offered 4, knowing he wouldn't finish them, and then they medically retired him after 2 years. No further cap hit, they milked his leadership, further instilled a culture of work ethic and excellence and then shipped him off.
We missed out and our still in the same position we were in.
Do you still have that crystal ball?
