Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Naden can train the house down and be fitter and faster than everyone in the NRL, but fitness and attitude is not the problem. It’s the constant brain explosions at critical times in games, that happen regularly. Maybe a brain transplant might be the answer.

Anyway let’s hope this is not just preseason media fluff and Naden is really going to have a crack
In reality like many sports….excellent at training…can train the house down….but on the field can’t perform under the pressure. We will see what Nasen can do if given the opportunity.

Papali’i was mostly injured last year, none of the three submitted 2024 seasons they’d be happy with.

On paper, they’re significant losses but in reality it won’t take that much to improve on their output.
T.May is a step or three up from Steph’s 2024 performances.
I wasn’t a fan of Bateman. In attack he was a disruption. He put in good efforts defensively but got sent off too often.
The only loss in I’Pap. I’Pap is better than Bird.
May/ Hunt are better than Steph and Bateman.
Overall i see improvement in the pack.

This club for a quarter of a century has never been a defense based club, for whatever reason, even 2011 our best season for points against it was still almost 18 pg....which wasnt bad, but other teams that year were averaging 12, 13 14 etc
Despite all the coaches, players, admin that have come and gone in 25 years, its always the same
Id love for this to change, to become a brickwall team

Was hoping Madge would fix it, But it's in the Walls of the joint.
We're soft.
All flash, No grit.

We have a very passable pack if we pick it the right way.

8. May
9. Api
10. Klemmer
11. Bird
12. Sam
13. Pole

It’s not great, but it’s serviceable. It makes the most sense to play Bird on the edge given our lack of depth there.
Klemmer starting prop he is not the intimidating front rower he was a few seasons ago but maybe if he works hard on the weights and puts on 5kgs he could find that form again right side back rower for mine needs to come from outside the club but only if top notch if not persist with whoever stands out in the trials.

He’s no less intimidating than Twal.

These props that once were warriors rarely can reverse a decline.
Klemmer is a Tamou, Tim Grant, Big Pappy Napa clone.
Once feared, now a victim of young bulls on other teams.
