Looking possibly like this may be a very serious weather event.
BOM saying it's about 456km n/e of Brisbane and heading south east but likely to track west maybe tomorrow making landfall about Thursday.
Hope all our Northern mates stay safe and aren't badly affected
Wondering if this will impact Fridays Dolphin - Souths game at Suncorp

Mate probably depends on rain / flooding and any damage , I’m on Bribie island and it’s just a bit windy hear no worse than any windy days we get but the Wednesday / Thursday part is the real issue , it could impact hear pretty hard and most folks are taking it serious , I’m in a unit complex and umbrellas are all gone , chairs stacked on balconies etc , I have a large wicker table with glass top and I’m going to rope it to the hand rail and put a strap over the table t secure the glass as they expect Cat 2 cyclone winds and up to 300/600 ml rain

South Sydney, including returning players Cody Walker, Jai Arrow and Campbell Graham, are set to fly to Brisbane early for fear of Cyclone Alfred leaving them stranded in Sydney and missing their season opener against the Dolphins.

Coach Wayne Bennett informed his Souths players on Monday morning the club had contacted the NRL about re-booking a flight on Wednesday so they could avoid being in the air when Queensland’s weather is predicted to be at its worst............................

We are directly in the firing line no matter where it lands. Very tip of northern NSW. The winds they are warning ppl about is the fear. Houses here aren't built to withstand it

It's a nice opportunity to go out and practice my King Lear soliloquy.
Blow wind and crack your cheeks!
I'll have a poop in the woods and drink from the creek while I'm there, got no choice, preppers are buying all the water and toilet paper.

Please no hate on me.... but, I'm a big Brissie Lions fan and the season opener is up here at the Gabba on Thursday night.
Not looking good for the game to go ahead so, will be interesting to see what plan b will be.
As long as power is on for Friday night to watch the Mighty Tigers give it to the nigh knights!

Exactly. There was life before TV. It's not my God. Sensationalism. The world is coming to an end. We'll take care of your money. Cause we are on TV. We know what's best for you. Well tell me - how did Vegas workout?

To all I hope things go ok and everyone is safe. If they say to get out, do your best to get out, if not find somewhere safe for refuge- as thekhan said houses that far south arent built for the potential wind gusts. And, keep your pets close. All the best.
