State of Origin 2025

I'm really not surprised by any of Daley's selections.

Pairing NSW two worst origin coach's together was always going to be a train wreck. A plan so brilliant you would have thought Pascoe and Hagi came up with it....

Daley 6 wins out of 15 games and Bellamy (Daley's advisor) 2 wins out of nine games, the cupboard must have been extremely bare...

Bellamy may be brilliant in the NRL but he sucked hard at origin, mainly because he had a petulance for pick storm players. Problem was all the best storm players played for QLD .....

NSW has lost the series before it's even begun !!!

Robson has done nothing this year to deserve his spot, just like Luai. Yet gets picked. May has massive stats compared to king this season, yet king gets picked.
I have never seen Robson do anything more than being a run of the mill club player. Not a lot of competition, but still, there's nothing he does that Api doesn't do sleepwalking.

Yep. A false perception created by the media to keep him down. There's nothing he did to create it so he should just carry on being himself and not be beaten down by it.
I would guess people of your age and elderly generation would have trouble relating to how younger people interact.
I don't. I would be tempted to act the same even now. When you get old, you just don't suffer fools. There just isn't enough time left to waste on idiots. The media have carter him through the mud just like everyone else associated with WT.

Maybe King was able to chase that intercept because he was bludging and had the energy to chase?
I bet if we dived into his stats, there is plenty of conservation going on as well.
It’s pretty laughable actually.
Daley goes on to talk about it and they show a clip at the same time.
What happened is King takes the hit up close to the line, the next play dogs spread it left and the ball is dropped with a Titans player picking up the ball to make their way down field, Tracey chases well and catches him twenty out. The ball is spread left across the field as the dogs players are running back field to get on side, the player runs at king still about 2m from getting on side and he makes a tackle, no penalty.
What an origin play….

Toia and Hammer are going to struggle to contain Mitchell and Crichton and Qld will struggle to contain Lomax and Too .....as a Qlder surprised Horsbrough misses out ....unfortunately I think NSW by 13 plus

Ive had time to think about this.

Although we lost to Souths... We saw some of the best form from API in seasons..

Luai stepped up and started running the ball more than Ive seen all year..

Selfishly, this could be the best thing that's happened to the tigers and reinvigorate our season.

We play roosters without 5 origin stars. The cowboys after origin with 4 stars backing up.

What were potentially tough games, could be games we run away with if the boys come in with the right attitude

This is really poor form from Daley.
The throw away line that he isnt playing as well as the other props is so easily pulled apart that he needs data that shows his point has merit. Anyone could easily pull together some stats that show he is playing better than the others. You have to defend your position with logic. Daley comes off as a dumbarse merely stating they are playing better than him.
Also stating that he wasnt going to talk to the guy is terrible leadership. You need to keep the guys on the periphery on the hook. You pump ther ego and give them some tips to work on so that they can put their name forward next year with more success. What if he needs him for the game 3 decider due to injury and suspension?
Daley was picked by the media and the authorities fell into line. Daley turned out ot to be awesome, but that was happenstance. He could've tuned out to be a complete failure.

Success is not determined in advance. It's educated guesswork.

I don't think Daley is saying it doesn't suit "his coaching style"... But it's the style of game they want to play in Origin.

A friend of mine explained it like this:

- There’s 3 80 minute middle time on the field (10, 8 and the 13).
- 240 minutes available.
- Haas Yeo are massive minute players. Barnett also.
- Yeo will play the full 80 in origin.
- So there’s only so many minutes left for the bench middles.
- Spencer is a 15 min spurt player and will make an impact.
- The other player needs to be someone who can make an impact via reduced time.
- Koloamatangi would have been better than King, but Laurie is conservative.

This make sense to me. They need the bench players to make an impact the same way we hope to see Royce Hunt make an impact at the Tigers. And that isn't May. If Haas or Barnett were out then May steps in (you would think).

Something still doesn't add up why May wasn't considered in the extend squad though, that is the concerning part for me that there's more to it that just the tactics.

Listening to the strategy from others and the plan with Moses and Cleary, it's all based on kicking.. not ball running a such. Anything 50m or more then Moses kicks. Anything shorter and Cleary starts kicking.

Maybe I've just been too passionate and one eyed to our tigers lads? Or has the Kool aid been streaming from the media so long now that it's brainwashed me? Lol

Wow, and after he already addressed the non selection by saying the other forwards he chose are playing better than Terrell. Now he doesn’t suit his coaching style? Starting to sound a bit suss.
Daley has turned a blind eye for everything Terrell has done

That's really being unfair Queensland had a greatest team ever any coach were loosing to them.

IMHO, even as several WT players must be considered for representative teams, e.g. Koroisau, Turuva, I am strongly against any of them being called for that ch9's Micky Mouse farce, where they intentionally choose to play under ch9's rules instead of the NRL.
