At least they put proper governance in place at the club. The Roosters rivers of money don’t flow through a leagues club (pokies and schnitzels), they come from big business. Hopefully having a proper board and CEO will see us become more business oriented and more competitive over time.

What about Penrith’s money ?

Yep, all very transparent. They will now turn their attention to building a rivalry with Tigers vs Bulldogs coming into round 22.
Considering how much control IM has not surprised if he was placing some demands on the dogs? Ciraldo dropped his winger Wilson and reshuffled his backline one hour before the game to give Galvin a start in the halves? Broncos tore them to shreds in the last quarter.
Hey Twentyforty
Don’t believe everything you hear or read mate, I heard from someone very close that Galvin was starting at 5/8 early on the morning of the game.
That was known after their final training run,
Not 1 hour before kickoff

Roosters leagues club boast that they haven’t needed to contribute to football in 6 years. Uncle Nick has purchased most of the land and retail space around East leagues club and has been placed in a trust so when he's dead the the Roosters have cash on hand for the life of the club

I have no idea why we care whether the club turns a profit or not. HBG made 9 million in profit last fy. The club won't dig itself off the bottom of the ladder without some capital investment. It's like trying to start a fire without oxygen. Doesn't work. Fans care about winning. He's just reaching for something to hang his hat on as a success. He isn't here to turn a profit he is here to make the club successful.
Did WTs see any of that $9m?

Yeah, their entire Board are the business elite. They sign guys because they know of the post-career opportunities. If we’re not at least trying to run as a successful business, we aren’t in the fight long term.

Just announced that Simon Cook, CEO of HBG has resigned today. No further details.
I think he left Wests Ashfield to take up the HBG role, wonderful what’s happened now!
Richo started to memtion something about the board/hbg i think...towards the end.of the interview tonite but then seemed to check himself and cut it short

We can’t even return members emails despite a three day response policy.

I think a committed CEO would at least try to harness the talents and interests of the membership.

Ignoring us and providing rubbish services doesn’t exactly encourage us to leave the club anything in our Wills.

We should have a will and bequest program, tie it into other things.

But our focus on finances is how many corporate boxes we can sell. We are doing so poorly, we could over sell them and no one would notice because they won’t be filled.

I went to Brooky once as a corporate guest. The food portions wouldn’t feed a North Korean peasant, there was a tiny drink allowance, the hostess racked off as soon as she could!!

I think it's important the business side the club needs cash flow to help build and spend money on the football department
