Didn't he say he wanted to retire here or stay for 10 yrs something ridiculous like that?

The bloke jumped ship at the first opportunity, im not stupid i know why he has but still when you make statements such as those and do the complete opposite its a bit hard to swallow.
He hasn't exactly set the field alight for us hasnt been bad either, certainly not the Batman he makes himself out to be on the field anyways.

Mate I hate HBG just as much as you do but Luai hasn’t been exactly forthcoming about removing the clauses himself. He could’ve done it all last year but he didn’t. At the end of the day his management team would’ve known expansion teams are coming and would’ve told him to hold off.
 
Give HBG what they want. Bring back the Magpies.

They can play in reserve grade, the NRL licence can be sold to someone competent & we can stop playing in the mirage that we are anything more than a feeder side for big clubs.

We played better without him. Jeez NRL contracts are garbage in that we will be paying 1.2m for someone in self protection mode.

We should be able to cut him at end of season & he can live on scraps for a year.

Garbage contract Richo signed. Where are all the clowns that were wanting pats on the back for the 18 month commitment they got

Maybe some, but not all. I’d say Turuva, possibly Bula, maybe the Mays brothers and T’oo for sure. I’m still not ruling out Cleary either !

Whilst I have said I am not too fussed with him moving on in 2028, what does concern me is if it was our favourite debenture holders and their incompetence that has pushed him out the door. If it is them than I don't like our chances of retaining too many of our favourite players after 2028.

Let’s see man I think we can use Luais money to tie down other core members of the side. From a footy perspective I think this works out best for both parties.
