I think people are confusing Katoa and Averillo. Would be happy to be wrong though.

Admittedly there are a few headlines out their toting that Wests Tigers are targeting one player or another, just about any half coming off contract but using the headline "Tigers target Dolphin as Luai Replacement" is misleading if they are talking about Averillo in my opinion, no where near like for like.

Averillo is a good centre and capable fill in at 5/8th or fullback.

I would not be signing him to play 6.

Katoa I dont think we'll get but he'd be an amazing buy if we did.

The leaks seem to have started to happen again since the old board took their seats back.

I don’t see the problem about leaking what players they are interested in ..,the Dogs and St George seem to go after everyone and doesn’t seem to hurt them… also gives us fans some interest outside the games ..

Obviously I don’t want other personal stuff inside the club getting air time like we had back a few years back

Code Sports is reporting the Wests Tigers are going all out to sign Katoa from the Dolphins??...... 😳 Wow he's about the best young half back coming through since Cleary, he has an "old head" naturally gifted, great off the mark speed with real footy smarts.

Fingers, toes, eyes, gonads crossed for that come to fruition. He may find appeal in returning to Sydney.

Turns out its Avarillo. 😭 Temu version of Katoa. Still a good player in his own right but as a Luai replacement, im not sold.

Averillo would be a sensible signing tbf, decent footballer who can plug many gaps especially that right centre and back up goal kicker to boot i think.

Ideally, on a strong roster Averillo isn't a starting player but an excellent backup to fill in at centre or fullback.

He's a good attacker but poor in defence. Throughout his career he only has a 30% winning percentage. One of those players who look good in a beaten team.

Still he's better then what we currently have, which says a lot.
