Not sure I agree with that...youve really gotta run outside every potential defenders' outside shoulder to not be seen as impeeding .
It was tuly harsh,and Im in no doubt opposition teams when they see they are going to be beaten in that situation reposition themselves to fully leverage the rule to their advantage.Defender was done cold
Having said that..if it was WTs defending ..wed go straight to "try confirmed"then an ad break!!!
Am truly disappointed that Benji is not on top of this stuff,particularly when the prevailing winds are against you with the refs.
Explains a lot as to where we are..know tries are hard to get for us,but gotta make them stick

Pretty sure the rule is you have to run at the inside shoulder so that the defender can release to defend on the outside. Additionally Wayne Bennett raised exactly the same thing earlier this year or last year , re he ran the inside shoulder then has to be on the outside shoulder of the next defender further from the break

He was gutless for 25 rounds. A bit late in the season to vent when it's pointless. Season is well and truly over and has been for at least 7 weeks.

You would have to think that the build up to the Chiefs entering the competition is only to get more attention next season.
Luai is going to have to be remarkable for the Parra fans to embrace him, and given what Volkam has delivered the back end of the season it seems they jumped the gun in signing him. Pezet hasn't proved to be a good signing - learned nothing from that

I agree Demps. Subs should have been made when the cracks first started to appear not after the flood gates opened. Benji bench use mimics Sheens.

Not just the bad decisions, but the contempt from Atkins when Api questioned the decisions. Didn't even want to have a discussion. Does he treat every captain like that? Somehow I can't imagine him speaking to Isaah Yeo in that manner. Api doesn't appear to be behaving outrageously.

Atkins should be dropped after that debacle. How come it is fine for one team to do something then there is no consistency a few minutes later when a similar situation occurs.

And when they refer to the bunker it's the Blind leading the Blind.

The rule needs to be tweaked, if the blocked defender has no chance of reaching the attacker then it's try time, use common sense.

That common sense has been used on occasions you have heard the bunker say the defending player wouldn’t have got near the try scorer.
The defender makes sure that he is contacted by the dummy runner when they know that they can’t get the player with the ball knowing the bunker could save them a try, and as we saw it worked this time.
Consistently is the issue,
again I’m sure we will see the same type of contact again this year with a try awarded.
I seriously don’t know why people celebrate what they see as a try anymore until that
“Try confirmed” comes through.

If Pole doesn’t run that line then the other defender doesn’t leave May open to jog over untouched
Being that close to the try line means there’s not much room for Pole to run through a hole without some contact happening.
How Madden wasn’t given the same result when he got taken out with the same referee and bunker offical is the biggest mystery to me.
