Whilst I’d like to see this as it results in less heart attack moments for me Benji and Sheens have both said they want an attacking brand of footy.
That will take some time to develop but I think Sam fits that style of play.
Unfortunately you’re right and the Walkers always played for the glamour clubs.
That’s where Benji and Sheens need to sell the vision of an expansive style in attack, we haven’t seen it yet but I’m hoping we’re building towards it.
I think Sam’s decision will have a lot of influence from his uncle and father. They both obviously have a different way of looking at the game.
Enter Benji and Sheens.
If they can sell the vision to young walker and the two older walkers I can see us with a good chance of landing him. Benji...
From memory you can’t stitch an ACL due to the amount of tension it is under. It feeds from the tibia through the middle of knee joint to femur, it is the major stabiliser of the knee.
Either way he’ll have the best advice being given to him and all options available, I really feel for him but...
If just a tear and not operated on the stability of knee is heavily compromised, you are correct though you can still get by but I don’t think surgeons wouldn’t recommend it especially under the rigours of NRL.
That’s the big concern, definitely affects speed but even more so is confidence in the stability and being able to fully load up on it.
I’m saying that these guys have the best medical teams in the business and ability to rehab every day so he could still get back to near 100%.
Biggest battle...
I liked what Charlie did yesterday and it comes back to the old saying, you can’t teach speed.
Can really see him turn into a Dylan Edwards style FB, they’re same height but Charlie is 4 years younger and 5kgs lighter.
Put another 5-6kgs muscle on his frame without losing speed and half breaks...
